This giveaway is now closed. The winners are #148 Mommy Cracked, #213 Christopher H, #39 Jessica, #194 Mimi, & #146 Cynthia C. Congratulations!
In our household, we fully support the Box Tops for Education program. I think it’s a great way to help our schools get funding for the things they need. Thanks to Sam’s Club, from now until September 4th you can get more Box Tops coupons on your favorite back-to-school brands at Sam’s Club and maximize your earnings for your school in their Big Clip Campaign.

As a double benefit, your savings on these favorite brands will pay for your membership. At Sam’s you can save over $40 on famous brands – Cheerios, Ziploc containers, Ziploc sandwich bags, Honey Nut Cheerios, Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies, Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Bars, Nature Valley Bars, Scott Paper Towels, Huggies Baby Wipes and Kleenex Facial Tissues – compared to grocery store prices. Saving money and helping out your schools – it’s a win-win situation!

We received a one-year membership to Sam’s to check out the Big Clip Campaign and found lots of our favorite brands participating, particularly Huggies! With the new baby on her way we defiitely need to stock up! And who can resist Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies? Not me!

And if that wasn’t enough, Box Tops for Education is giving away 1 million Bonus Box Tops to America´s schools! You can also enter The Big Clip sweepstakes for a chance to win the Grand Prize of 500,000 Bonus Box Tops or one of two first prizes of 250,000 Bonus Box Tops! How great would that be for your child’s school?

WIN IT!

Thanks to Sam’s Club, I have a $25 gift card plus a one-day membership to give away to one lucky winner. Four runners-up will also receive one-day passes to Sam’s. To enter:

  • Just mention in comments before midnight, Aug 27th your best tip on saving money. That’s it!
  • A random winner will be selected and notified via email shortly thereafter.
  • The winner will then have 3 days to claim their prize.

A good way to save money is to always have a clear list when you go shopping. So many of our buys end up being things that we didn’t need and won’t end up using. That, along with clipping coupons, will definitely help you save.

My best tip is to comparison shop. I always look around online for coupons that I can print out for stores or codes for savings at internet shops. On every major purchase, I first go online to make sure that what sounds like a good deal really is the best deal.

It helps to know what stores are good for certain products. Produce markets will give you much better prices on fruits, veggies, and deli items than big chain stores. But a supermarket is much better for buying dried and frozen foods.

My best tip is to go through the sales paper and find the deals you want. Take the ad to Walmart and let them match the price. Thank you!

    Brad Walker says:

Prepare meals out 1-3 days in advance (more if you are that prepared). Make your list of items you will need to make those meals.
Save any coupons you may use from newspaper, online, mail, etc. Look through and use the saved coupons that match items on the list.
Go to the store with a focus on just purchasing what you need. Going up and down each isle always gets me in trouble.. too many products with the word “NEW” on them.

Before I go and do my weekly big food shopping trip I do my research. I take about an hour and I scour the Sunday Sale ads from several different supermarkets and for each store I write down the items I want to get at each store that are on sale and that we need. If there is a super terrific sale or coupon opportunity on a particular item, I buy as many as the limit allows. I find spending this hour doing my research ahead of time generally saves us at least $50 per week when I do this once a week big time shopping. I usually visit at least 3 different grocery stores in order to get all the best bargains. We do not currently have a Sam’s club membership and I truly wish we did because I just bet I would start shopping there all the time! We have a family of 5 so buying in bulk is something I want to start doing more of! Thanks so much for the chance to enter.
