Congratulations to Erin m., JMarie, gloria, electricisland, Carol, Shelly, Lisa p, Melodic Mom, LV, Molly Capel!
I admit it…whenever Little Music Man brings home treats from school he received for Halloween, Christmas, or birthdays, I dig into his stash! I have a major sweet tooth! And I’m not alone, according to Popsicle:
When you’re hungry for a snack, do you find yourself heading for your kids’ stash in the pantry? According to a recent survey* commissioned by Popsicle®, nearly 80% of moms admit to breaking into their children’s arsenal of snacks and desserts. Because of this, the survey revealed that the foods moms try most to avoid having in the house are candy and baked goods.Â
The dessert dilemma that moms face is two-fold:
• Three in four moms agree it’s a challenge to find desserts and snacks the kids enjoy and that are not bad for them
• 60% of moms agree it’s tough to find desserts and snacks that satisfy both their kids and themselves
What moms may not know is that there are snacks that both she and the kids will love! Popsicle and Fudgsicle offer a variety of better-for-you treats, including Low Fat Fudgsicle Triple Chocolate bars and Sugar Free Popsicle Tropicals ice pops.
*The Popsicle® Survey was a nationally representative online survey of 500 American mothers with kids under 18 living at home. The interviews were conducted between November 2 and 6, 2009.
We were excited to receive a bunch of products that can satisfy our dessert and snack cravings that are lower in calories, sugar, and/or fat than some of the items we’ve usually been eating: Fudgsicle Triple Chocolate bars, Popsicle Sugar Free Tropicals, and Klondike 100 Calorie Vanilla & Chocolate Sandwiches.
We hosted a playdate at our house over the weekend so we were happy to share the Popsicles and Fudgsicles with the kids and adults, and everyone enjoyed them. The kids really loved the Tropicals popsicles (especially the Caribbean Fruit Punch).
Of course I loved the Fudgsicles. The white chocolate was a little too sweet for me, but the dark chocolate was good, and the milk chocolate was my favorite. I just wished there was a way to distinguish between the milk and dark chocolate Fudgsicles when in the wrappers, since sometimes I’d end up with a dark chocolate Fudgsicle when I was craving a milk chocolate one.
As for the Klondike Sandwiches, I find it hard to believe they’re only 100 calories! They are a tasty and satisfying treat for those (many) times when I get a craving for sweets.
It’s no surprise that all of the Popsicle and Klondike products were a hit. They’re items I’ll make sure we have on hand in the future so Little Music Man and his friends can indulge in a tasty treat that’s low-fat or sugar-free, and so can I!
