My kids love to read books and learn interesting facts. Maybe it’s their curious nature or their desire to understand how things work but they’re always asking for answers. So when we had the opportunity to review National Geographic Kids: Weird But True! 300 Outrageous Facts I knew they would love it.
BOOK DESCRIPTION
At last, all those weird but true facts that readers of National Geographic Kids love so much are collected into a fun-filled book that you’ll come back to again and again! Weird But True is based on the hugely popular magazine page of quirky, fun facts that many readers of National Geographic Kids magazine turn to first.
OUR REVIEW
We received our book and couldn’t wait to start reading it. The first thing I noticed was how great it looked. The pages were brightly colored, glossy, and included some great photos and images. It just made you want to read more and more. And the fact that there were only a few tidbits on each page made it very easy to get through the book quickly.
Even I found this book to be interesting. I didn’t know that a slug has 3,000 teeth and 4 noses. Or that Olympic gold medals are actually more than 90% silver. Or that if you run in the rain, you will get 50% wetter than if you stand still.
The best part is that this book shared the information with just a basic phrase. If my kids wanted to know more about the subject, they had to look it up themselves in the encyclopedia or internet. And believe me, their curiosity just had to know more.
All in all, we found this book to be interesting, educational and fun!
