MeloMelo Coffee Club – 100% Pure Kona Coffee (Giveaway)
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #76: Jaque!

If you’ve been visiting for a while you know how much I love coffee. Whenever I’m at work I have to make a stop at the nearest Starbucks location to get my daily fix. However, when I’m at home there’s nothing I want more than a cup of Kona coffee.
According to Wikipedia:
Kona coffee is the market name for coffee (Coffea arabica) cultivated on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa in the North and South Kona Districts of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. Only coffee from the Kona Districts can be described as “Kona”. The weather of sunny mornings, cloud or rain in the afternoon, little wind and mild nights combined with porous, mineral rich volcanic soil, creates favorable coffee growing conditions.
We were recently introduced to a company that specializes in 100% pure Kona coffee – MeloMelo Coffee Club. Their Coffee Club features a different Kona coffee farmer each month to ensure that you get a wonderful sample of what Hawaiian growers have to offer. Their whole beans are roasted and shipped fresh to your doorstep so you know you’ll get the best cup of coffee possible.
We had the opportunity to review a bag of Kona coffee from Moki’s Farm – located in the town of Captain Cook on the west coast of the island of Hawaii. “The elevation at Moki’s assures the ideal amount of rain to water the coffee and sun to ripen and later dry the coffee; while the rich volcanic soils nurtures the coffee trees.”
One of the first things I noticed was the “roast date” printed right on the label. I thought this was a cool feature because it tells you exactly when your beans were prepared. It also serves as a reminder to ensure that you enjoy your bag of coffee as soon as possible. This may not be an issue for you but I store multiple bags of coffee and a freshness date is the perfect way to keep track of them.
But how does it taste? Absolutely delicious! And this is coming from someone who’s used to drinking Kona coffee on a regular basis. Although, the bags that I purchase from the grocery store are usually a Kona blend and doesn’t compare to the creamy smoothness of 100% pure Kona coffee. I especially liked that it didn’t have a sharp taste like so many other brews I’ve tasted.
There are various MeloMelo club member options to choose from to suit your needs:
- Annually
- 6-months

I’ve been enjoying the MeloMelo Kona coffee so much that I’ve taken to bringing my own coffee to work now. I’ll still have a Starbucks on occasion but now I prefer to start my day with 100% Kona coffee from the MeloMelo Coffee Club.

I learned what coffee beans look like when they’re still on the tree. Very cool, as I have a coffee plant in my house.

I learned that they only sell their coffee in whole beans so that the flavor and freshness of their coffee doesn’t erode.
I learned the coffee beans start out as green cherries.
