Lice Shield Giveaway
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #20: Chantal Cooper!
I’m not sure why Kacie keeps getting Head Lice (yup, she’s gonna love me when she reads this one day). She has very good personal hygeine and washes her hair almost every day but they just keep coming back. The funny thing is that it doesn’t affect anyone else in the family . . . just her. Well, it does affect me indirectly since I have to constantly sterilize everything she lays down on.
So when we heard about Lice Shield I was ready to try anything.
According to studies, there are about 12 million children infected with lice per year in the United States alone. With each outbreak, parents freak out, often spending hundreds of dollars on fancy lice removal services. Why not prevent lice from attacking your child in the first place?
Free of harmful pesticides, Lice Shield has been specially formulated with a blend of essential oils (including citronella, eucalyptus and rosemary) that have been scientifically demonstrated to help repel lice, providing over 80% repellency.  Both products are easy to substitute into a child’s daily hair care routine during a period of infestation and were designed with kids’ finer hair and sensitive scalps in mind.
OUR REVIEW
We received their Shampoo & Conditioner In 1 as well as the Leave In Spray and have been using it for the past few weeks with success. When the products first arrived, Kacie was actually in the beginning stages of a Lice infection where she had a small amount of nits but no actual Lice bugs (I’m getting the creeps just writing this!). We used the Shampoo/Conditioner that evening and every night since. I’m happy to report that the Lice have all disappeared and haven’t been back since.
The Leave In Spray is great for when she gets ready for school in the morning. Kacie has long thick hair and this spray has a detangler included that makes combing her hair so much easier. Plus I like the idea of putting an extra layer of protection on her hair before she heads out to play with other children. The great thing is that you can also use this spray in helmet, hats, or anything else kids put on their heads.
The only minor thing I didn’t care for was the scent of the Shampoo/Conditioner. It had a slight medicine smell to it and I guess I’m just used to non-scented hair care products. However, since it didn’t bother Kacie, it didn’t bother me.I would much rather deal with the scent than with Lice. After all, those Lice removal products don’t smell any better either!
So if you’re tired of dealing with your child’s Lice problem you owe it to yourself to try Lice Shield. I don’t know about you but I have much better things to do with my time than comb out nits and bugs! I’m sure you do, too!
