JumpStart Get Moving: Family Fitness Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #90: Cass!

game4One of the great things about Wii games is that it can combine game playing with physical activity. Even if it’s a rainy day outside, your kids can still get in a pretty good workout indoors without destroying the house. So, when we found out that one of our favorite educational software companies, JumpStart, was releasing a new Wii game, we were excited to try it out!

GAME DESCRIPTION

For years, JumpStart has been creating the best learning games for kids. Now, with Get Moving Family Fitness, JumpStart is making fitness fun too! Discover the ultimate family sports game with fitness expert and mom of 4, Brooke Burke. With more than 15 sports challenges in 11 exotic arenas, Get Moving is the fun, new way to keep your family active!

OUR REVIEW

Get Moving Family Fitness reminds me of Wii Sports but with so many more cool features that really appeal to my kids. Once you design your character, you begin by selecting from a variety of sports activities – volleyball, baseball, boxing, aerobics, football, basketball, and many others. Within each of these sports you can also select more specific areas of play. For example, the Volleyball section has options like serve, . . .

Once that’s all set, you then select which environment you’d like to play in. To me, this is the coolest part of the game. There are 8 different scenes to choose from and each one is presented such a deep rich colorful image that it almost looks 3D. And there are some really great theme choices – castle, underwater, jungle,  beach,  farm, and others.

game2

Another great feature is that before each game, you’ll see Brooke Burke demonstrating the various moves your kids need to know in order to do well in each game. This really helped the girls with understanding the rules. Plus, after each game you’ll get a tip on how to stay active and be healthy outside of game play.

game3

This game was perfect for Kacie and Kiana’s age and even I had a blast playing along. Kacie was able to play the more advanced games and Kiana could play some of the simplier ones like dodgeball. I really enjoyed the baseball game but had some difficulty in basketball. The only thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need a Wii Board or Nunchuk to play some of the games. But even if you don’t have the extra equipment, Get Moving Familiy Fitness can still provide your family with hours of active fun!

Purchase your copy at Amazon.com for $27.99.
