Introducing Lite Sprites (Giveaway)

One of the benefits of having daughters is that I’m introduced to some of the most prettiest and girliest toys around . . . and Lite Sprites has got to be on the top of  my list of the sweetest toys around.

Based on the story of 5 magical Sprites who bring color to their world of Lite-Topia using all-powerful Lite Wands, this new product line allows girls ages 4 and up to magically capture color and light from any flat surface and cast color spells while emitting enchanting sounds.

We were lucky to receive various Lite Sprite playsets to try out for ourselves and my girls are absolutely loving it!

Now, if you’re going to start building your Lite Sprite set I would suggest first getting a set that contains a Sprite and Lite Wand since you’ll need the Lite Wand or Sprite to send colors to the rest of Lite-Topia. The cool thing about this wand is that even though it comes preloaded with 10 colors – red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, purple, fuchsia, pink, and white – you can also add more colors to the library using the enclosed color wheel or from any flat surface in your home. Seriously!

Once you’ve captured all your desired colors, just select your preferred color, press the “Diamond” button on the wand and aim it at Prisma (or any other Lite Sprite), a Lite-Topia playset, or another wand and watch them all sync to the same desired color.

With the Wand you can even play pre-loaded games like Color Hunt and Color Mix or cast Color Spells that affect either all Lite Sprite objects or just with Bleak. Bleak, the naughty Sprite, rejects color and uses her powers to eliminate or disrupt color in Lite-Topia. She has her own favorite colors, and can catch colors and spells from the Lite Wand.

We also received the Tree of Lite, the place where the Sprites hang out. Scaled to interact with the rest of Lite-Topia, the Tree of Lite is alive with color, lights, sparkle and sounds. The Tree of Lite comes with decorative flowers, a Lite Pet, a child-sized flower ring, and a path that you can use to connect other Lite Sprites playsets. It DOES NOT include a Color Wand or a Lite Sprite doll.

This Tree of Lite is definitely the centerpiece of the entire Lite Sprite product line in that not only does it share colors with the wand and Sprites but also has a light-up staircase, and kid-powered elevator, a frosted colored canopy where the Sprites can hang and swing using their pods, and a balcony where all the Sprites can hang out together. My only gripe with the Tree of Lite is that the canopy leaves completely cover the top of the playset making it a little difficult to see what’s going on underneath. I’m not sure if the frosted color was required for the acceptance of color but it would have been better if the canopy leaves were a clear color so you could see through them. What I ended up doing was removing one of the frosted leaves so the girls could play with the balcony easier.

Then there’s the Waterfall Playset and the Windmill Playset. Each of these sets includes a flower ring, a Lite Pet, flower accessories, and a path to connect to other playsets. These are definitely great add-ons to the main centerpiece and gives the Sprites more places to explore.

For us, what sets this playset apart from others is the ability to share and change colors between the wands, Sprites, and playsets. It’s pretty cool to see all the different colors in the color library come alive. And if you play it at night in a dimmer environment, these beautiful colors just light up the room! Even I get mesmerized watching the girls play with their Lite Sprites!

Just keep in mind that everything is run off of AAA batteries (except the Sprites which uses LR44 button-cell batteries – included) so make sure you have a supply on hand. There’s also a great “sleep mode” feature which will help save the life of your batteries if the item is left idle for a period of time.

So if you have a little girl who loves to play with fairies and other mystical creatures, she’ll fall in love with Lite Sprites. I know my girls have! They’ve been playing with these playsets every single day since it arrived. It’s also a great way for Kaila (20 months) to learn basic colors. Educational, pretty, and fun! You can’t beat that!

Shine on!
