HABA Toys Giveaway

One of our favorite family activities is playing games that come in a box and not on a disk. I feel that these type of games help build imagination, encourage social interaction, teaches my girls the right way to win and lose. We recently had the opportunity to review a game from HABA Toys and selected The Wiggling Cow.

OUR REVIEW

The Wiggling Cow was an easy game to play and even though it’s aimed at kids 6 years and older, Kiana (3 years old) was also able to play along with the rest of the family. Basically, you just pile up the cards (hay stacks) in the middle of the board, place the cow on top of the heap, and use your hayfork to remove the barrels of hay without tipping over the cow. It sounds easy but it’s a lot more challenging than you think.

The girls loved when the cow fell over and laughed hysterically. In fact, I think they sometimes tipped the cow on purpose just to get everyone laughing. What I really liked about this game is that it requires good hand-eye coordination, something that Kiana needs a little help with. It also takes a steady hand to remove a hay stack properly. However, with a little practice the girls were playing like experts. So much so that we had to change the rules a little to make the game more challenging. Instead of just not tipping the cow, we made it so that you could not move another hay stack when trying to remove yours. I love that this game allows you to make up your own rules to suit your family’s needs.

In today’s world of video games, it’s become more important for kids to play games that allow them to interact with other kids. HABA provides the games to do just that.
