HABA Toys Giveaway
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #25: Danielle M!
HABA has always been one of our favorite toy lines and we know that we can expect high quality and long lasting products from them. Our family was recently lucky to receive 2 of toys from their brand new releases.
Rainbow Whirls Pegging Game ($35)
A special moment for young lovers of color! The colored pegs and rings offer many different plug-in variations. The rings can also be piled up on the pegs. The stacking game is ideal for free play. Contains: 32 parts and pegging board. Made of Beechwood. Recommended for ages 2 – 6.
This is a simple toy that allows younger kids to play independently. The wooden pieces are smooth with no rough edges which means no splinters to worry about. They’re also painted in bright colors and covered with a non toxic water based stain so you know it’s safe for your kids . . . especially if they’re like Kaila and tend to put things in their mouths.
However, the best part is that the wooden pegs fit perfectly into the slots on the board. We’ve had similar toys before and they made their pegs fit so tightly that it was hard for my younger ones to insert them causing frustration. Needless to say, we got rid of that one. However, the Rainbow Whirls Pegging Game is something we’ll keep around for a long time!
Building Blocks First Letters Fun ($52.19)
Discovering letters while constructing is no problem with these building blocks. They even allow words to grow vertically. 4 dice can also be written on with chalk so that longer words may be constructed. Ideal for exploring the universe of words. A letter is printed on each side of the cube. Contents: 30 cubes, 4 of which can be written on, 2 pieces of chalk, 1 sponge. Products are made from sustainably managed forests and controlled sources. Non toxic water based stain. Age 2-6.
This set comes with 26 lettered blocks (one for each letter) and 4 blank ones where you can write your own letter of choice with the included chalk. The only thing that surprised me is that the letters are only painted on one side of the block leaving the other 3 sides blank. Therefore, you can’t spell too many words with these blocks but it did help Kaila with her letter recognition. These blocks are also a great way to teach colors as well.
You can tell that these are high quality blocks by their solid weight, bright colors, and smooth finish. They’re easy to stack upon each other and feel great to the touch. And the girls love playing with them!
