GoPicnic Giveaway
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Shelly, katie, and Lily Kwan!
Whenever we go on a picnic with friends, we usually order bentos. They’re delicious and cheap, but not the healthiest. Now I know of a healthy alternative that’s just as delicious and cheap for our next picnic that doesn’t even need refrigeration-GoPicnic meals!
GoPicnic’s founders developed the concept of the shelf-stable picnic meal in 2004 for a major US airline whose existing buy-on-board fresh food service program was costing it millions of dollars annually due to high levels of waste from unused meals as well as incremental personnel expenses stemming from the need for in-flight food preparation. The shelf-stable snackbox solution that the GoPicnic founders created to address these issues generated profit for the airline for the first time in its food service history and provided customers with a reliable quality product at a good value. Recognizing the many benefits such shelf-stable “picnic” meal programs could bring to a wide array of other industries, the GoPicnic founders expanded on the original concept, making nutritious high-quality shelf-stable meal solutions available to new markets and clients.
I was fortunate to receive the following GoPicnic Meals:Â SportsMunch, JungleMunch, and GalaxyMunch Mighty Munch Meals (ARV $5.99 each); and GoPrimo, GoSavory, and GoEnergy Go Meals (ARV $4.99 each).
The GoPicnic meals are really wonderful, and they’re not just for picnics. They can be taken on field trips, road trips, or even to work. The GoPicnic meals offer a variety of healthy options (lots of all natural and organic goodies!), and allowed Little Music Man and me to try items we never have before (e.g. Nutella!).
There are so many things I love about the GoPicnic Meals. For what some places charge for a large sandwich, you can get a satisfying, delicious meal, along with some sides and a dessert! I also like that each box includes any necessary utensils and a hand-wipe.
My favorite GoPicnic meal was the GoEnergy Meal. Don’t let the little box deceive you. It was packed full of the following: Wild Garden hummus dip, Pita Break flax & honey lavash crackers, Seapoint Farms dry roasted edamame, Mariani dried cranberries, and an Almond Roca toffee candy.
Everything tasted really good, and the Almond Roca toffee candy was a delicious, yet light way to end such a satisfying meal.
Little Music Man’s favorite meal was the GoPrimo Meal. He never tried Nutella before, but we spread the Nutella on the croissant that was included in the meal and he devoured it!
The fact that the GoPicnic meals are shelf-stable is a big plus. You can stock up so the next time you’re in a hurry for work or forget about your child’s field trip which requires a home lunch, you can simply grab a GoPicnic meal!
GoPicnic is also great to have on hand in case of emergencies. Recently here in Hawaii we were faced with the possibility of a hurricane hitting the state, and I just happened to save a couple of GoPicnic meals just in case our power went out (fortunately the hurricane never happened).
Whether you’re going to a picnic, work, or school, or simply want to stock up for emergency situations, GoPicnic is the way to go!
