My family and I always, every summer, go to the lake here in the city and just swim around. Since we are 5 hours to the nearest beach, this is the closest thing we’ll ever get to seeing sand!

If too much time goes by w/o a trip to the beach (6 hour drive sadly), I start to dry out. We make a long weekend trip about 3 times a year, and always go to the same set of towns on the Oregon coast. There’s the aquarium where the whale from Free Willy used to live, the old bay front where the kids can watch them pull up crab pots, and countless family restaurants where we can eat without going broke. My favorite part about the trip is that there are dozens of weird road side things to stop at at stretch our legs at.

Anywhere but home! I am a single mother of 3 kids so we dont get a chance to vacation. maybe one day!! Thnanks for the chance!!
We generally stick to day trips (during the week, unless it’s something dh really wants to join us on) during the summer when things are more crowded & then do our “real” vacation (I’d be perfectly happy to go to Disney every year LOL) during the school year when things are less crowded.
This summer’s main day trip destination is Sesame Place (little kid amusement park) since we have season passes & our fall main trip is going to be Disney, etc in FL

With the price of gas this year my favorite destination is my backyard pool – we’re spending a lot of time there this year.

My favorite destination is a short drive from my house. It’s a state park called Maquoketa Caves State Park. I’ve been going there since I was a little girl.

I would love to take a simple trip to a cabin in the woods for quality time. I am happy with what we are doing, which includes a waterpark. I think my older son (22 months) will be in heaven.
We rented a very nice cabin for the week and have our anniversary and family reunion going on at the same time. It should be a blast! (Love this DVD idea!)
I love any beach. I miss going down to the Jersey shore!
