we have two amazing dad’s in our lives. one is my children’s father, my husband. he’s probably the most ideal dad in the world. he unconditionally loves and cares for his children like leave it to beaver. he’s always stealing and giving kisses and hugs and gum to the kids. he’s beyond amazing. he’s always giving to us even when he was struck with thyroiditis which swept him (negatively) off his feet. he just jumped back and provided above and beyond for his family.

The Dad in my life is my older son. His daughter is severely handicapped, and his whole face lights up when he sees her face, as does hers.
They have lots of fun playing together, and he makes sure he will always be there for her.
He is being deployed this summer, and although he wishes to serve his country (and he will) it tears him up to leave her at home.

My Dad deserves this because he has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and they originally gave him only months. He has been going through chemo and his tumors have reduced 50% and they now give him 2-3 years.

My brother-in-law is a father and a music teacher. He will use the Zune to help teach kindergarten and first grade students.

My husband deserves to win because he is an amazing daddy. He’s always there to catch our little girls when they fall, wipe their noses when they’re oozing, and ease their worries when they are crying in the middle of the night. Bath time is daddy time, he changes every other diaper or pull-up and never complains. He encourages our girls to take risks but never stands too far away. The thing I admire most about my husband is his commitment. He is commited to being the best daddy ever, to always be there for the important things, to always encourage and never discourage, to always love and protect his little girls. He is always ready to play. He’s reasonable. He is always cool, calm, and collected. He is always giving 110 percent.
He is always positive. I see such pride and happiness in his eyes when our girls give him hugs and kisses, when they call for him. Especially when they run to him and throw their arms around his neck. He has sacrificed a lot for our girls and me. Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy.

My husband deserves a Zune because he’s a great Dad and fantastic husband. He’s working so hard now to fix up the house so we can move and I can live closer to my Mom and Dad. He could use this while he’s working to listen to his favorite songs.

I would love to give my dad the zune. He is a very hard working man taking on a family that isnt biologically his. Yet hes love me and my siblings like were his own. My dad is so silly when it comes to music. Because i dont have much money, for his birthday i bought him a little mp3 player but i think he would enjoy this one much more! best of luck for my dad!

I would love to see my husband win. He’s such a hard worker and does so much for our family. He’s an EMT for 48 hour shifts on weekeds, then he farms during his off-time, and goes to school during the week (every day, technically, but since it’s an hour drive away he only goes 3-4 days since we can’t afford the gas!). He’s going to school to be a math teacher, and this past year was particularly hard on him, despite his years of experience in school in the past (he has a couple other degrees since he started college early as a homeschooler). We just had another baby (also have a 2 year old) and he’s such an amazing dad- it melts my heart. Not to mention what a fabulous husband he is…he delivered our baby at home (just the two of us!) 2 weeks ago AND spent the day slaving away for me.

Anyway, I’d just love to see him win as a tiny reward for all he does for us.

My dad deserves this because he worked 60 hours a week the entire time we were growing up so we could be middle class.

I would love to win this for my dad. Not only is he a fantastic dad, but he always allowed us to have our requested gadgets as kids that we ‘had to have’ at the time (within reason, he wasn’t a spoiler, thank goodness!). But he never seemed to get much for himself, still doesn’t. One of the things we inherited from him, was a love of sports, in particular running. All of us grown-kids have ipods, shuffles, nanos, etc. to run with. He has none of it - and he still runs on his own, and on saturday mornings with a group. My husband has been commuting 2 hours each way since he lost his job 4 months ago. He wanted his kids to be able to finish off the school year with as little interruption as possible. He gets home just in time to tuck them in before he, himself passes out from pure exhaustion. This would be a great little pick me up.

my dad deserves this zunes player because he always seems to help me with my finacial problems when i really need him. I am a very pridful person and always refuse but he lets me know that he does it for me to make my life easier for me so I dont lose my house. That is what a real father is.

A father is a very special thing. The sacrifice, pain, and promise made by every father is often so well hidden behind the tough exteriors of their wizened, aged faces that we sometimes forget how awesome they are. I couldn’t begin to blog the amazing things my father has done for me. Aside from the money, knowledge, and love he has impressed upon me my whole life, he has also given me an appreciation for music which has seen me through some tough times of our lives. I wish my financial stance left me in a position to do something for him. Alas, starving and college student tend to go hand in hand and I have nothing but my words of praise and love for him. I know these words would suffice for his patient, loving, and understanding mind but my wish is for more. Which is why I’m willing to sit here and blog beautiful praises about him to complete strangers. So they would know what it is to have such an amazing father, a father who simultaneously runs a business, loves a wife, puts two kids through college, and all the while teaching them more then they could ever learn in schools. Love ya’ dad!

Becoming a first time dad at the age of 50 sometimes can be very overwhelming. He could really use this on days when he needs to relax and unwind and tune out the noise that the kids make.

I think that my stepdad should win becuase even though he is my stepdad he has always treated me as a daughter of his. He always asks my mom if I need anything cause he would send it right away. He’s a good guy and I’m glad he married my mom.

I met my husband five years ago. I had been alone with two children for twelve years. I had dated on and off but could never find someone that was right for the three of us. And then i met my husband.
He has definitely been everything that we could have hoped for and is a Perfect fit to us. He has always treated my children as if they were his. And is more than happy to attend conferences, games and anything else that my children participate in. He has stood with me through the teen years and I seriously don’t know what I would do without him.

My Dad deserves this because he has been going through tough times lately regarding his health. This would really cheer him up!

I cannot say that my hubby deserves this MORE than any other dad, because as I read the comments on this blog, I become increasingly aware of how many GREAT dads there are!

However, I am entering, because finances are very tight and I would love to win this for my hubby to use on his commute to work. Just this last week he decided it is time to ride the bus for the commute from our town to the place he works with the price of gas increasing. I know he will miss his radio for the ride. My father used to write his own songs for a children’s show that he performed at schools in our region. Unfortunately an accident left him with some brain damage — he’s still much the same person, but his ability to write music has been severely impacted. Greg’s laptop just died COMPLETELY. First it was the screen. He had to resort to plugging an external monitor in. Now it won’t even turn on. It’s only a year old. He now uses my laptop, which keeps overheating and it cuts off. Sometimes the screen goes out as well. He needs something to cheer him up! Plus he’s a doggone good dad and fiance!

Hmm, its hard to sum up the word as to why my father NEEDS one of these fancy gadgets… it may be his sense of humor even in the worst of times… it may be his unconditional love to his wonderful wife (my mama)… it may be his contagious happiness- i swear he never sees negatives anymore… it may be his support for me, the youngest, going off to college without the funds to pay for it all– but he nvr lets me see his worry…. or it may be because he’s the one I call dad. The only one in the world that I would ever call dad.

If I listed all of the things my husband does, the list could circle the earth. He’s an amazing dad to our young boys, and I really appreciate the fact that he’s always there. Unlike most of my friends, I don’t do most of the parenting, he does. He’s better at it too. I’m better at making sure the kids get balanced meals, but he’s better at making them feel important and loved (I’m not saying I’m bad at that, but he’s definitely better - I learn a lot from him). He’s especially good at seeing things from the boys’ point of view, something else I learn from him. I can already tell that he’s going to be their best friend!

Jeez. It may be virtually impossible to list all the reasons my dad deserves to win. Well, he was a paratroopler in the Army. He kept me and all my siblings tough throughout life, no matter what kind of curveballs it threw at us. We went through many hard times and right when you would think a father would cripple under pressure, he stood strong and always trusted the Lord. He is #1 in my book, no matter what anyone else says. (Hi, im Robert Petersen from N.C, and im 13 years old and never been prouder of my dad!)

My hubby deserves this because he works 7 days a week, 13 hr days to make our business prosper and provide for our family. He gets very little sleep but still makes sure he makes time for our 3 girls.

My dad is the ultimate handy man! If you want something made, his creativity will step in and he will amaze you with his talents. He will even read up on something, then build, repair, or make something. He is funny, punctual, and gets things done. He is an awesome dad by far! Very intelligent and loving.

I miss my Dad’s sense of fun, joking, he always had a calm way of looking at any problem and without raising his voice making the culprit feel awful. He was always the life of any party too. Think I’ll cry now, remembering is hard.

My friend never gets anything selfishly. Would be a nice surprise!

He’s sweet, considerate, hard working and sacrifies everything for his family! He always makes sure he spends time with his kids and is a loving and loyal dad!

My hubby had a horrible childhood but he is very forgiving and let it go and decided to be the opposite of what he knew and is a really great dad. He went from barely feeding himself to supporting me and our 4 kids. He works all night so I can stay at home with the kids. He loves to cook and does that everyday for me! He used to have a cell phone but its just one of the many things he gave up so I wouldn’t have to work. There really are alot of great dad’s out there and he certainly is one of them.

My dad deserves to win, because he does a lot of for the community. He is a Voluntary Firefighter and Rescue worker. He has paid out of his own pocket to go to Rescue school for four months and then he turned around and now is just finished Fire school which was also another four months. He goes to school and has to work too to support our family. When ever a holiday comes up, the Fire Department usually does something. Like a parade or show and my dad always does that kind of stuff. He deserves to win because then he can enjoy one of his favorite things in the world; Music, well he is out working hard.

My dad gave me his IPOD video because he was not using it’s too complicated, so that would be a great gift for him because the Zune is more user friendly. And to add my dad is a great father, her deserves the best.

You know, this is difficult for me but I have seen my dad’s character to take care of the family. He has leukemia and not many years left (if that) and yet he is working hard as a mechanic nearly 10hrs a day to support our family. That is amazing to me, because his love for our family is stronger then his pain! He does have the option to get disability and just stay home, but he wants to take care of the family and secure a future for us when he is gone because disability pay is not much. He is a warrior to me. He would also love this gift to take to work with him to help take his mind off the pain. Regardless if I win or not, my father has shown true character and love despite the most horrible pain he goes through and I love him dearly.

I think that my fiance deserves this gift because not only does he take care of me, he’s taken on my two boys, ages 7 and 8. My 8 year old is special needs and that didn’t even cause him to pause or hesitate. He loves my boys as if they were his own and he’s changed all of our lives for the better. Before him, I didn’t believe that I was worthy of love or anything else and he loves me enough to be patient with me while I learn who I am. He is a remarkable man.

My dad is newly retired with a ton of projects. he likes to listen to his music while he works and this would be an ideal gift for him

A year after being widowed, I met a wonderful man who is so much like me that we both wondered if we might be related (we’re not, phew!) Even though I didn’t want to remarry, he has always helped me raise my son to be a fine young man with a great sense of humor, adventure, and values. Nothing my son or I could give him could ever show him how invaluable he’s been to us both and how much we both love him. But a Zune would be a nice surprise for him.

My Dad deserves this Zune because he works hard everyday and he gets deployed a lot and a good way for him to get through the times and remember his family is to listen to the songs and remember family moments we have had.

My father deserves to win the Zune because he got me one for Christmas and I didn’t even ask for it. I had no idea how cool it was and now it’s my favorite — it’s with me all the time. So my dad deserves one because he turned me on to all the cool music like Zeppelin and he got me a Zune, but he doesn’t have one for himself.

I miss my Dad so much–he died when I was 19. He would have loved the Zune because he loved music. There was no generation gap between us–we used to borrow each other’s records all the time! I loved borrowing his Benny Goodman while he enjoyed borrowing my Bob Seger! We had so much fun together when he was alive, that I will never stop missing him. Dad was never too busy to be a father to me. He used to take me out to lunch or to the mall on a regular basis. Listening to music would be a wonderful way to honor his memory.

My hubby is definitely the dad who deserves to win. We have a 2 y/o with special medical needs, so I stay at home. He makes sure that every Saturday I have the day to myself, and never hesitates to stay home if I ask him to at other times. My dad needs to win something great like this to help beat the funk he is in. It’s been a rough 4 years, he’s had 4 strokes during the past 4 years, with two of them just 6 months apart. Needless to say he is feeling a bit down in the dumps and like an old fogy.

But you know what? Through it all he has not complained, and that is what makes him even more amazing. I think he really needs a special treat this Father’s Day.
