This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentors #4: Sandra, #13: Benita, #33: Bridgette, #37: Judith, & #8: Jessica!

Even though Kacie is only 7 years old, I’ve noticed that lately she’s been more and more concerned about her physical appearance and being popular in school. Boy, they sure do grow up fast these day! When I was younger, I didn’t like a boy until I was 14!

That’s why I feel that Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty shares such an important message to all the young women today. “At Dove, we want to help free ourselves and the next generation from beauty sterotypes. It’s this message that’s at the heart of our Campaign for Real Beauty and Self-Esteem Fund, and it’s why we continue to create thought-provoking ads, confidence-building programs and messages that embrace all definitions of beauty.”

As a part of this, Dove has launched their “Thank you for making a difference campaign” where Every Dove purchase helps build self esteem. when you enter your Dove UPC on Facebook and select a charity, Dove will donate $1 to inspiring self-esteem programs at a charity partner of your choice. These charity partners include: Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Girls Inc.

You can even stop by the Dove website for valuable resources like back-to-school tips for parents and teens, free self-esteem tools, how to run your own Real Beauty Workshop, and other great information.

Being a mother of 3 girls, I feel the Campaign for Real Beauty is such an important cause. It’s time that our daughters concentrate on their individual beauty and not what they think society wants them to look like. I feel this self-confidence will help my girls grow up to be smart, independent, and happy young women. Don’t you agree?

WIN IT!

Thanks to Dove, I have 10 copies of True You – A workbook focusing on your personal relationship with beauty. Five (5) winners will receive 2 copies each so that you can also share this valuable information with another special young woman in your life. To enter:

  • Just mention in comments before midnight, Nov 6th what your idea of true beauty is. That’s it!
  • A random winner will be selected and notified via email shortly thereafter.
  • The winner will then have 3 days to claim their prize.

To earn extra entries, you may do one or all of the following. Each one counts as an extra ticket but you must leave a separate comment for each one.

This giveaway is open to everyone world-wide! Good luck!

This post was written as part of a program for Dove, who provided the product for giveaway. I was not compensated in any way except for a small non-monetary token of appreciation. By entering this giveaway, you are acknowledging that you have read, understood, and agree to my disclosure policy.

True beauty is knowing who we are and letting others see us for that and not hiding because we are afraid someone won’t like our personality or whatever. True beauty comes from within us.

True beauty comes from the heart that has been taught the beauty of a good character and not muddled by societal image of what true beauty should be.
