This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #33: Michelle Draveski!

Finally, something that new Dads can appreciate and relate to . . . the Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox. This creative idea is the brainchild of Fun Stuff 4 Babies which specializes in great products for the newest addition to your family.

With the birth of each daughter, DH has gotten better and better at changing diapers. In fact, with Baby Bug I didn’t even have to threaten him to help out. However, when Girlie Girl was born he was very hesitant about diaper changes. I don’t know if it’s because he’s never really been around babies before or because he thought it was icky. In any case, I think the Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox would have made the task a lot easier (and fun) for him.

So what’s included? Let’s see . . .

  • Mask – toxic fume filter for when it doesn’t smell like roses
  • Goggles – for protection against your own mini version of Old Faithful
  • Patent Pending Poop Poncho – need we say more?
  • Tongs – Several inches of steel separation between you and the little warm wrapped gift
  • Turkey Baster – for precision hiney washing
  • Ear/Nose Plugs – use with care
  • Pacifier – scream plug
  • Baby Wipes – for cleaning baby bottom and various parts
  • Diaper for newborn – cute as a kitten until it gets wets then it looks and smells like a sewer rat
  • Bio Hazard bag and rubber gloves – for quarantine containment of the nuclear meltdown
  • Emergency Formula Container – doubles as a PeePee cover for WeWe
  • Hand Wipes – to clean up afterward
  • Picture Frame – this is your badge of honor

Is that hilarious or what? Our favorite is the Turkey Baster! I can definitely see DH using that one to clean baby’s bottom while staying as far away as possible. All of this is contained in a handy toolbox that any Dad would be proud to take along with them.

The Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox makes a great baby shower gift, too! Most of time the Dad gets left out in all the gift giving hoopla but imagine his surprise and gratitude when he opens this one!

The Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox can be purchased for $36.99 at Fun Stuff 4 Babies.

My husband and I were changing my son’s diaper at my mom’s house. As I reached for another wipe, my son let loose again, sending poop in an arc that hit the door of the bathroom. My husband later measured the distance (because he’s a geek like that) and the door was just over 6 feet away.

The time I was changing my son and I reached for the clean diaper and just as he was uncovered… there he went. You just have to laugh when that happens

When our daughter was younger it seemed whenever daddy would change her diaper she pooped. And when she first came home he was freaking out at her poop being black. We are trying for baby #2 and this would be awesome to give to hubby.

The first diaper my hubby ever changed was my sons, and it was a poop one. Well my son wasn’t finished apparently because when he opened the diaper it shot across the room. I had never heard my husband scream like a girl before that day :)

    Carolsue says:

My husband didn’t think this was too funny, but baby boy peed a straight shot right into hubby’s eyes — only thing that saved him was that he wore glasses. Otherwise, it would have been extremely unpleasant!

My little girl would take off her diaper as soon as she got wet. It got to the point where if she would wash her hands and then touch her diaper to “wet” it and would need a fresh one. Smart 1 year old.

When my daughter was about 8 months old, she had diarrhea really bad. Well, I was in the shower, and my husband had to change her. After he got her diaper off, she started pooping again, and sprayed him! I know it’s horrible to laugh at, but I was just coming in the room and seen it all. I so wish I had a camera to capture the look on his face! He started dry heaving and ran to the bathroom, and vowed never to change her again! That didn’t happen!

My husband has never been around babies. When he was with his baby cousin for the first time watching his uncle change the diaper he discovered how little boys’ anatomy is during diaper changes. He was so shocked I laughed until I cried!

My horror story had to do with when the diaper wasn’t changed properly. I didn’t realize it until I found a trail all around the brand new carpet. It was really disgusting.

When my daughter was an infant she became quite constipated. We went out and bought a suppository and my husband proceeded to gently put it in so it would dissolve. A few minutes later we checked in on her and there was green ooze coming out every crevice of her diaper. As we started to change her diaper, and clean her up, the green goo just got worse. It was a disgusting mess and we always tease her about it. It’s a favorite story to relate to each new boyfriend.

I’m lucky I don’t have any horrific war stories. Just those occasions when my kids would get stomach problems and it just seemed like an endless supply of ….. gross. I’m very grateful that my kids are grown now, but now we’re looking towards our first grand child!
