This giveaway is now closed. The winner is #59 Carol. Congratulations!

I can’t believe the forth and last edition of the Crayola Creativitycast Twitter Party sponsored by Crayola & MomItForward.com was held this past Tuesday.  The month sure went by fast!  This week’s topic was Back-to-School Shopping & Planning Tips and participants shared their thoughts and advice on how to be school-ready to get your kids off to a great start. To check out the conversation, just search Twitter using the hashtags #crayola #gno.

WIN IT!

Thanks to Crayola, I have a Crayola Creativity Pack to give away to another lucky winner! This prize pack includes: 24-ct. Crayola Crayons, 10-ct. Crayola Markers, 12-ct. Crayola Colored Pencils, Crayola Pip-Squeaks Colored Pencils and Glitter Glue, Crayola Window Crayons, Tadoodles Washable Crayon Buddies, Crayola Color Explosion Black Extreme Surprises, & Crayola Color Switchers.

To enter:

  • Just mention in comments before midnight, Aug 28th how you get your children prepared for back-to-school. That’s it!
  • A random winner will be selected and notified via email shortly thereafter.
  • The winner will then have 3 days to claim their prize.

To earn extra entries, you may do one or all of the following. Each one counts as an extra ticket but you must leave a separate comment for each one.

This giveaway is open to US addresses. Good luck!

Well, my kid isn’t ready for school yet… but being a teacher I’d say… don’t forget to keep your kids reading and doing interesting academic type things during the summer! You don’t have to make them do worksheets or anything, but keep their minds engaged! It makes it so much easier to get back in the swing of learning!

  56. Donna Holmberg says:

To get ready for that first day (and week) of school, the weekend before (that’s this weekend for us) we double check the supply lists to be sure we have everything we need. If they’re using the backpack from last year I make sure it has been cleaned and any needed repairs have been done. We also do a trial run of the outfits for the entire first week of school and a try on of their gym outfit so make sure all is good in the clothing world. My daughter and I hang her entire 1st week wardrobe on individual hangers in her closet so she doesn’t have to wast a lot of time digging things out in the morning. This helps because that first week of getting up on time is really rough for her, even though we started back on that schedule this past week to help get her system into the right timing mode.

We are night owls, so the biggest thing we have to do to get ready is start waking up earlier ~ so we can get to bed earlier. This is hard on me & the girls! Otherwise just picking up new clothes & supplies gets them excited. Then going in for the Open house, they start seeing their school friends & are even more excited to go back. Especially since mom has basically lost her mind after a long summer & things start to get stricter {ie. less fun} for the kiddos!

There is no easy way to prepare for back to school. We all have to get up earlier and always have the kids lay out their clothes the night before and have all the homework and everything they need in their backpacks.

  201. Brianna says:

We reset the clocks. Early to rise, early to bed. We start reading time in the afternoon to get ready for homework time. We make a menu together of what school lunches are to be prepared. (compromise on both sides there) I have two little boys and they each get to pick out a new book satchel or back pack, whatever is require.
