Chuggington: It’s Training Time (Giveaway)

All Aboard! Young trainees from coast-to-coast can ride the rails to fantastic fun with “It’s Training Time!,” the newest DVD in the “Chuggington™”series from Anchor Bay Entertainment. The third title based on the popular TV series from Ludorum plc, “It’s Training Time!” pulls into retail stores nationwide on August 2, 2011.
An exciting train property for preschoolers, “Chuggington” airs daily on Disney Junior, Disney Channel’s new programming block designed for kids ages 2-7 and their families. The colorful and contemporary CGI-animated TV series follows the amusing adventures of three young trainees, Wilson, Brewster and Koko, as they learn to “ride the rails” of life and become productive chuggers. Featuring a dynamic fleet of relatable and diverse characters, each episode of “Chuggington” encourages early social readiness skills.

“The compilation of Chuggington episodes featured on ‘It’s Training Time!’ will serve as a resource to parents who want their children to learn valuable lessons while being entertained,” said Maureen Taxter, SVP of U.S. Consumer Products, Ludorum. “The social emotional lessons in each ‘Chuggington’ storyline help to reinforce the lessons that preschoolers are learning from their parents and teachers.”
“It’s Training Time!” features six episodes plus a three-minute bonus “Badge Quest” episode, Running On Time, which explores the importance of being punctual. Weaved throughout the fun-filled adventures are lessons to help hone preschoolers’ pro-social skills, such as the value of setting a good example (Training Time Harrison); cleanliness (Wilson Gets A Wash); following directions (Koko And The Tunnel); diversity (Watch Out Wilson); self-confidence (Wilson’s Smooth Move) and not jumping to conclusions (Eddie Finds Time). In Training Time Harrison, for example, Harrison is desperate to pull the royal carriage for the prince of Buffertonia, but he travels too fast, runs red lights and takes too many shortcuts. He eventually realizes that he’s setting a bad example for the trainees, who look up to him. In the end, Harrison studies properly, passes his test and is proud to pull the royal carriage through Chuggington!
The retail release of “It’s Training Time!” is right on track with a special “Chuggington” cross-promotional campaign from Anchor Bay and Well-Pict Berries that offers consumers the opportunity to receive a $3 rebate check by mail when they purchase the new DVD title or any other “Chuggington” DVD from Anchor Bay and one 1-lb strawberry clamshell package from Well-Pict. Well-Pict’s packaging and other marketing and advertising materials will call out the special “Chuggington” promotion with on-pack graphics of the “It’s Training Time!” DVD on 12 million strawberry packages. In addition, the new title will include a Well-Pict insert featuring an exclusive recipe customized for preschoolers and parents to prepare together.
“Chuggington” has quickly become a global sensation since its debut in September 2008 in the U.K. The show has been licensed to more than 175 territories worldwide and has established ratings records in several key international markets, including the U.K., Germany, France and Australia. The series made its stateside debut in January 2010. The property has built an impressive portfolio of high-quality licensees in the U.S with more than 30 licensees coming ‘aboard’ to produce Chuggington products. Disney Junior acquired all U.S. television rights to the property for season two, which launched February 14, 2011. Disney Channel is currently available on basic cable in more than 99 million U.S. homes.
