On February 8th, Image Entertainment will release BEAUTY & THE BRIEFCASE on Blu-ray & DVD. Lane Daniels (Hilary Duff, A Cinderella Story, “Lizzie McGuire”) is a bright, ambitious journalist who dreams of writing for Cosmopolitan, her favorite magazine. She finally gets her chance to pitch her article, “Switching Careers to Find Love” to Cosmo’s editor Kate White (Emmy™-winner Jaime Pressly, “My Name is Earl”, “Las Vegas”) who enthusiastically accepts the idea, recognizing a potential cover story. Nominated for a 2011 People’s Choice Award, Beauty and the Briefcase charms and captivates with its young and talented cast and appealing, thoughtful story. Will Lane choose the love of her life or the career of a lifetime?
OUR REVIEW
I’ve always liked Hilary Duffs’ films and even though they’ve never really been big blockbusters they have always been entertaining just the same.
In Beauty and The Briefcase, Lane Daniels lands the job of a lifetime . . . writing for her fashion bible, Cosmopolitan Magazine. The topic? Finding love in the business world. From the job interview that she clearly is not qualified for to the various men she dates as a part of her “research” this movie will easily entertain you.
It also teaches women a very important lesson. Although you should be particular when looking for in a partner, that doesn’t mean that you should discount every guy who does not have all the qualities on your “checklist”. Who knows? Maybe that checklist needs a little revising and that being able to play a sexy instrument is not as important as someone who makes you laugh.
So if you’re looking for a great chick flick to make you laugh, check out Beauty and The Briefcase. It will put a sunshine in your day.
