This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentors #62: sito & #88: Francine!

I love Vanilla. The taste. The aroma. The subtle addition it makes to any recipe. So with the holidays coming up, I was very interested in checking out A Century of Flavor from Nielsen-Massey Vanillas.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

From the delicately sweet flavorings in pastries and Crème Brûlée to the essential savory notes in lobster sauce or spicy shrimp, A Century of Flavor is filled with 50 of the most tantalizing recipes, highlighting the intricate, yet delicate flavors of pure vanilla and is written for the novice cook as well as the seasoned chef. The cookbook also includes recipes using many Nielsen-Massey pure flavor extracts such as lemon, chocolate and orange. Exquisite photography and helpful cooking tips accompany each easy-to-follow recipe.

MY REVIEW

I loved this cookbook! I tried a few of the recipes and found them so easy to follow along. I liked that the recipes looked very gourmet yet included items that you’d find in most household kitchens. The end result turned out great and even my husband had to compliment my efforts. My favorite dish that I’ve made from this cookbook surprisingly has to be the Chewy Macadamia Nut Cookies. I normally like crispy cookies but these were da bomb!

My absolute favorite part of this cookbook are the amazing photos. They were so vivid and rich, almost to the point of being 3D. They make every dish look so good and makes you really want to try them out. What really amazed me was that you could use vanilla in all these dishes. Who would have thought?

So, if you’re a fan of vanilla, do yourself a favor and check out A Century of Flavor. You won’t be disappointed!
