With Spring in full swing, it’s time for the kids to get outdoors and play. And what better way to get some exercise . . . and fun . . . with a cool new skateboard?
Integrated with 48 precision-positioned LED lights, the Radiate Skateboard projects an explosion of color for a radical skateboarding experience! The newest innovation in skateboarding will have kids riding in style throughout the night with a glowing track of multi-colored lights illuminating its path.

We received the Rockboard Radiate Skateboard ($99.95) to review and I knew the perfect person to give it a try . . . my 10 year-old nephew. He’s been really getting into skateboarding lately and has been visiting the local skateboard parks around the island. And even though Hawaii is known for surfing, skateboarding is a very similar sport since both require excellent balance.
The Radiate Skateboard came already pre-assembled and charged which I really appreciated. You know how kids are when they get something new . . . they want to play with it RIGHT NOW! The skateboard had a very solid feel to it and you can tell that the hard rock maple deck is made with quality materials. It also has a sandpaper-like finish to it to help your child’s shoe to grip the board.
The wheels have “low rolling resistance Abec-5 bearings that are connected to high-end casted pro aluminum trucks for ultimate durability”. Now seriously, I have no idea what all that means but it does give a very nice ride. I remember skateboards from when I was a kid that had those metal-type wheels that you could hear coming from a mile away. These wheels are so quiet and smooth that riding the skateboard is almost effortless.
However, the best part are the 48 LED lights. My nephew was already pretty stoked when he initially saw the Radiate Skateboard but when I flipped the light switch he was in awe. “OMG Aunty! That’s sooo awesome! That’s the coolest skateboard in the world!”
And I have to agree. Check it out!
Located underneath the skateboard is a little panel where you’ll find the LED lights on/off switch as well as the outlet to plug in your charger. The skate tool and charger comes included in the box.
Rockboard is best-known for their 2012 TOTY (Toy of the Year) award-winning hybrid Rockboard Scooter and I’m sure the Radiate Skateboard will follow in it’s footsteps. It’s a great way to get the kids outside for some much needed exercise!
