Anyway, back to the food.

I was out surfing the web when I came across a recipe site that claims to have a better alfredo sauce than Olive Garden.

Are you kidding me? C’mon. That’s a pretty bold claim to make. In any case, I thought I’d post the recipe for you here. I haven’t tried it yet but will soon. If you get a chance to make it before I do, please let me know how it went.

  • 1/2 cup sweet butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 12oz. box angle hair pasta
  1. Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium/low heat.
  2. Add the garlic, cream, white pepper and bring mixture to a simmer.
  3. Stir often.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese and simmer sauce for 8-10 minutes or until sauce has thickened and is smooth.
  5. When sauce has thickened add the mozzarella cheese and stir until smooth. STIR FREQUENTLY
  6. While the sauce cooks, boil noodles for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Plate pasta on serving plates and spoon sauce over pasta.

Sounds so yummy, but I would probably put on 10 lbs just from being in the same room as that sauce. :-)

  5. mcewen says:

Well that’s enough to sort out dinner for tonight! I never have any problems cooking anything, it’s more deciding what to cook in the first place.
    Cheers

  7. Holly Schwendiman says:

ROFL – great lead in! I found a site a few years ago that found secret recipes and shared them. I printed out several (one included the OG alfredo sauce) but never got any of them tried. So I really don’t know if their ranch dressing recipe is just like Outback’s or not! Man, now I’m hungry and going to have to go plan some lists….LOL

    Hugs,
    Holly

it looks just like the one I got out of my restaurant clone book and I don’t know about “Better” but it’s definitely YUMMO! :) Though I used fettucine.

  22. Sparky Duck says:

I would have voted for you if i saw this earlier. I have tried that recipe and the only reason it is not better then olive garden is because you have to clean it up yourself afterwards

sounds very rich………… and delicious. Mmm.

  24. maggie says:

made sauce and cannot understand why you put mozzarella cheese in it,as it comes out in globs not very appetizing

  25. TinaD says:

I’ve made this a number of times and it’s GREAT…my family love it…and it’s sooooo easy. (I never had the mozzarella clump…)

  26. Carl Schultz says:

Never had it so good & so easy. I’ve even added such things as mushrooms, sauteed onion, etc. , at different times. Very easy to work this one. And itt is always smooth & creamy.
