WFMW ~ Easier Haircut

May 2, 2007

Believe it or not, DH is the one who takes the girls to get their haircuts. He has a great stylist that refuses to charge him or even accept a tip. She’s really good with the girls since she has 2 of her own at home.

However, there are times when all Girlie Girl needs is a little trim to the bangs. She used to dread the thought of hair falling into her eyes. So, we decided to put on her swimming goggles.  Now she can watch her favorite video while I trim away. If only I could get Baby Bug to wear them, too, we’d be all set!

that’s a great haircut session tip! My babe patiently closes her eyes while I trim her bangs but I bet she would love the google thing too.

Great tip, although if I took scissors to my kids’ heads they’d run in fear and probably turn me in to children’s services!

Just letting you know, I’m heading to FL (beach and Disney) and I’m going to use another WFMW idea of yours. It’s the baby powder for removing sand tip. I’m ready to test it out b/c I cannot stand dragging sand back into our car and hotel!

Anyone who asks me about it will be referred to your site. ;)

when kaylie was younger she had to have goggles on to wash her hair, know how hard that was lol she just didn’t like water in her eyes

what a cute inventive idea! I get Little Princess to wear goggles when I wash her hair so water doesn’t get in her eyes.

DD can’t stand her bangs in her eyes, so she tolerates the bang trim very well. She thinks that she wants to grow out her bangs now though…we’ll see how long that lasts. When I tried it, I got my bangs to my ears and then gave up and wacked them off! LOL

That is a great idea! We have had a terrible time with Jaykeb getting his haircut because of the hair on his face. I might try this next time.

I could save myself a lot of money if I trimmed up my kids’ hair myself. But long ago I learned to trust my hairstylist and then I wouldn’t have to put up with the moans and complaints of a job not well done!

Great tip, though. I might file that away for the future.

I usually just yelled, “Sit still or I’ll scalp you!” Accidentally. Of Course. Not the yelling. That was on purpose beause I hate cutting hair and especially hate cutting hair on little wiggly uncooperative people. However, I am too cheap to pay anyone else to do it. Bad combo. At any rate, it’s th SCALPING and BUTCHERING that were accidental. Really.

You notice how I’m running everything together? Sinus headaches make me do that. Bad sinus headache! Ptooey!

At any rate, hair is easier now. They grew out the ole bangs and they grew out the hair. Now it’s the braid-it-or-it’ll-get-tangled-beyond-belief battle we wage.
