Carnival of Family Life

The Carnival of Family Life is coming back home to the islands. For those of you who are not familiar with Blog Carnivals . . .

A Blog Carnival is a particular kind of blog community. There are many kinds of blogs, and they contain articles on many kinds of topics. Blog Carnivals typically collect together links pointing to blog articles on a particular topic. A Blog Carnival is like a magazine. It has a title, a topic, editors, contributors, and an audience. Editions of the carnival typically come out on a regular basis. Each edition is a special blog article that consists of links to all the contributions that have been submitted, often with the editors opinions or remarks.

There is so much stuff in the blog-o-sphere, just finding interesting stuff is hard. If there is a carnival for a topic you are interested in, following that carnival is a great way to learn what bloggers are saying about that topic. If you are blogging on that topic, the carnival is the place to share your work with like-minded bloggers.

In this case, like the title suggests, this carnival is about family related stories. Everybody likes to talk about their family, especially if you have kids. Here’s a place where you can sit down, have a cup of coffee and share your thoughts, stories and experiences. It can be informative, funny or inspiring. And it doesn’t even have to be about your immediate family. You can talk about anything you consider to be about family life . . . pets, relationships, education, finances. It’s up to you.

To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, you can check out a past carnival edition here or here or here.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to the join the carnival but were too shy to jump in, now’s your chance. We always welcome new members! You can submit your family-related posts here. Deadlines are Saturdays at 12 midnight, Hawaii time. Editions are posted on Monday mornings.

And if you’re interested in hosting the carnival at your site, you can do that, too! Just drop me a line.

So glad you’re hosting, and I love the new template. Great colors.

I’ve participated in one carnival, but just the one thus far. I’ve been reading about Carnival of Family Life for a while now; I might just give it a try.

Lord knows, my family is fodder for lots of blog posts! LOL

[…] I just want to thank Local Girl, from the bottom of my heart for nominating me for this award. I’m not sure where I met her,but it’s been close to a year now. She’s one of a few blog friends I’ve known that long, and became close friends with. She loves to shop like I do, and of course being a flight attendant, she travels all over, which is what I love to do is Travel. Both our daughters are the same age. What I really think is fantastic about Local Girl is, she’s such a wonderful friend. If you get a chance stop by and say ‘Aloha’, and check out the Carnival of Family Life. […]
