What’s Your Ring Tone?

During boarding, there was this young guy sitting in first class. He was big and gruff and quiet.
Then his phone rang. His ring tone was Helpless When She Smiles by Backstreet Boys.
I had to turn away because I couldn’t stop laughing! It made me wonder why of all the thousands of songs now available for ring tones did he choose that particular one. Did it have a special meaning? Was it his girlfriend’s phone?
Of course, this started a whole conversation among my crew members about why we chose the ring tones we did. I have the theme song from Sex in the City which replaced my original one, I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. I originally chose I’m Yours because it’s so light and carefree that it reminds me of driving through the country with the top down. As for Sex in the City, I absolutely loved the series and the movie.
So what about you? What’s your ringtone and why did you select that particular one?

Eh, I’m so cheapo mine is just one that came on the phone!
My is a free one, the William Tell Overture. I figure it is uncommon so I might know it is mine and it is free!
Mine is how regular telephones sound. I know right away it’s mine when it rings.
It used to be YMCA until it got pulled out by my service provider from their list of ring tones.
Mine is a type of rock tune that came with the phone. It’s loud enough for me to answer te phone quickly but not too embarrassing if it goes off in a public place. I used to have Bad Day by Daniel Powter but that got embarrassing!
This made me laugh. I was in Chick-Fil-A one day and this really cute military guy came in…. His phone started ringing, and it was Girl’s just want to have fun…..It totally ruined it for me!!! BTW….I LOVE YOU BLOG!!!

I love having a song I know as the ring tone!
Mine used to be Michael W Smith’s Emmanuel, which was cool because the boys sued to sing with it every time it came on. I had to get a new phone last weekend I thought it was appropriate to get Veggie tales “Where is my hairbrush:” since I lost the phone which caused the problem in the first place. I also made it my ringback so anyone who calls me gets subjected to it as well.
I have several ring tones. The ring tone for my hubby is U2′s Vertigo. I chose it because I love U2 and the opening is catchy.
The ring tone for my daughter is John Mellencamp’s Check it Out which she chose because it’s her favorite JM song.
For my FIL, I have the theme from Bill Nye, the Science Guy because my FIL’s name is Bill, and he’s a retired engineer.
My “generic” ring tone for everyone else is the theme from The Highlander, which is Queen’s Princes of the Universe. I had a thing for “Duncan MacLeod.” *grin*
Would you believe I have never downloaded a custom ringtone? My husband had The Ramones for a while and it was so annoying that I made him change it. Their songs are so short, I swear it was the whole track…
Mine is Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.
It is the only one I have ever bought but I think I won’t buy any more. I heard something the other day about how much money Americans spend on ring tones and it made think that it is no wonder we are in such a mess financially.
But, they are fun to have – I have to admit! I love mine!
Mine is Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G (just a selection from the prelude). I love this song – it really speaks to me, and since my phone seems to ring all the time, I wanted a song that I would be happy to hear each time!

I haven’t downloaded any ring tones for my phone yet, I have too many “kid things” to pay for LOL
But my old phone had a TON of ring tons on it. I had a different ring tone for each person that called. My brother does the same thing. His fiance’s ring tone is some mushy song.
Mine is “Bust A Move” by young MC…because I loved the song..so every time my phone rings, I do a little dance in my head!
I have a cheap phone that doesn’t play real songs…just tones. But I figured out how I can give each of my friends a different tone which is cool, cuz now I know who is calling me.
I have Caprice, Crickety, Dizzy, Espionge & Playground for my tones.
I had where my Crickety friend accidentally dialed me while she was driving >:( on the cell. So I didn’t answer her, but instead called her back from my land line cuz I was at home. She was trying to call Robin, not Renee. sigh
My ring tone is Super Troopers by ABBA. When I was pregnant with DS1 whenever I played the ABBA Gold CD he’d kick and “dance” a lot, especially to Super Troopers =).
I just use the ones that came w/ the phone although when Hubby calls Jazz plays.
My bil downloaded some cute ones for my parents. When they call each other it says “The wife/Husband is calling” & then just keeps getting louder until you answer it! Plus on my dad’s it has a little rubber ducky song. Cracks me up every time! Oh & they are 72 & 68!
my ring tone is dialogue from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies; my text tone is The Joker saying, “Why so serious?”
I have 5 songs that I switch every once in a while so that I dont’ get bored. My parents and my best friend have their own ringers too. I think it’s funny how many people specialize their phone with rings and tones.
LOL.
Mine is actually Mozart’s Piano Sonata. It’s the CD I played all the time when my six-year-old was a newborn. I just don’t want to let go of those memories, I guess.
Crazy by Patsy Cline is my ringtone. It’s the first song I ever heard of hers. I was about 22 (LONG time ago), and I loved it right away. I bought a CD with ther greatest hits soon after, and am still a big fan…tragic story, too. The movie of her Life called “Sweet Dreams” is one of my favorite’s, too.

That’s funny. I admit, I’ve never had a custom or song ringtone! I have no excuse, I could even make my own if I wanted to. I’ve just never had a desire to go beyond the basics offered on the phone….how sad am I? LOL

When my house calls me “As Mayor of the Munchins City” plays from the Wizard of Oz.
When my hubby calls, “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw.
When my parents or other family calls, “We are Family” by Sister Sledge.
When my work calls it is a voice that says “it’s incredible, incredible ….. my owner saves lives….. I work for a hero……a hero…a hero I tell you.
When friends call, “My Wish”, by Rascall Flatts
I also have clumsy on there by fergie.
When I call my hubby his phone plays, “I like the way you do that right there” by Chingy.

Mine is “Brighter Than Sunshine” by Aqualung because it’s a beautiful song that makes me smile every time I hear it, and also because it is exactly how I feel about my fiancee… so even if it’s not him calling, it makes me think about him.
Nothing Good About Goodbye by Hinder because it’s a slightly less played song that I love and I love the band.
Mine is crazy Fergalicious…. its very distinct and you cant help but dance a little when it goes off.
I am the dinosaur who has two land lines and no cell phone. I use a special tone for the business line, and a regular tone for the home line.
No tone here, but my brother-in-law programmed his boss’s phone to cockadoodledoo – and not being a techie, the boss never figured out how to change it. It was hilarious when it went off during company meetings, etc.
I chose one that my phone gave me and I don’t even know what it is called. I just liked it at the time. I really should change it.

My ringtone is just a regular ring that comes with the phone. In the guy’s defense though, maybe his significant other st his ringtone. I once changed my hubby’s ringtone to “If I Only Had A Brain” from the Wizard of Oz!
I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall of his station when it rang like that for the first time
I keep my phone on vibrate, so even when I had a ring tone I never got to hear it. LOL!
I have Christina Milian’s new song Us Against the World. No particular reason, I just like the song.

Mine is Cold Hard Bitch by Jet if it’s not someone on my list. It’s Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen if they’re on my list. If my hubby calls me it’s either American Soldier or 8th of November, whichever I’ve set it to. I rotate between the songs for him.
My regular ring tone is my all time favorite song “The Scientist” by Coldplay
If a family member calls me its “Homecoming” by Kanye West but only the part that Chris Martin sings in that song (Lead Singer of Coldplay)

I have tons of ring tones thanks to my 13 and 11 year old. They are constently putting them on my phone. I have ring tones set up for about 5 people so I know they are calling. My main ring tone for a long time was Mama Mia and now it is Sweet Home Alabama. Since I am an Alabama girl living in Missouri I love hearing it!
I just have a generic one because it’s free. But I would love to get the Mario brothers theme song. I love Nintendo and I love Mario Bros.!
Great question. I have one for each special person. My favorite is my SIL, it’s a frog that croaks or my MIL is a cat meowing.
I just want to say that I love your layout…. the seashells and beachballs and sand. I miss the beach.
My ring tone is “The Unforgiven” by Metallica. I just like the song and chances are no one else has it so I will know it is my phone ringing when I am out of the house.

Mine is Rock Lobster by the B-52s. I’ve always loved the B-52s, loved this song, wanted something a bit lively that didn’t scream “old lady Mom”. Besides, being in Florida it’s sort of a fun, beachy type song. And my daughters on swim team…so it even fit in there.
