The Shopping Trip That Wasn’t

Thank you for all your well wishes for a speedy recovery. I’m glad to say that I am feeling a lot better, however, I’m still not 100%. Most of the symptoms are gone but I just can’t seem to get my energy level back up to normal. It takes a lot of effort just to walk upstairs! DH teases me that I must really be sick since I’m hardly at my laptop lately. He comes home today from a 4-day trip so that should help a little bit.

I was supposed to do a 3-day trip tomorrow with a 36-hour layover with 2 of my best friends. I reserved the car, had the GPS all set up, and we were going to shop until we dropped from exhaustion. We even made plans with the rest of the crew to do a little pot luck type party on the plane. Needless to say, I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. And now I have to call in sick. WHAAAA!!!!!

I know I could handle going to work but I would hate to make anyone else sick, too. Even so, I don’t know if it’s the meds or the sickness or what, but I am so depressed over this! How silly, huh? Whoever heard of someone being upset because they couldn’t go to work? Maybe I just need to go back to sleep.

On the bright side, this should give me a few days to catch up with all of you! Thank you for hanging in there with me even though I haven’t been around lately!

BTW, Tylenol Severe Cough & Cold works like a charm. Thanks Leanne!

Oh so sad that you’re missing your fun planned trip! It’s not a bad thing that you don’t want to miss work, that just means you are in the right job because it’s not just a job!

So glad you’re feeling better! It took me 3 weeks to get over the flu last year! Don’t overdo it!

when you’re sick and want to go to work, it’s a good sign imho that you like your job. this is a good thing! I have to admit that I would have no problems with my job saying i didn’t want to work. That’s how much i don’t like my job. crazy.

but i hope you get to 100% soon! I know it sucks being sick like that!

I don’t think it is silly to be disappointed at all. You had all these cool plans set up and they had to get cancelled. I think that is very normal. I am glad you are feeling better and I hope you will get to plan another lovely shopping trip soon!
