The Commercial Bowl

So who do you think won the Super Bowl Commerical battle?

I have to admit that I wasn’t very impressed with most of them. I mean, if you’re going to spend $3 million for a 30 second advertising spot I would expect a little more than men walking around without pants or a guy getting slapped by a kid. And what about those GoDaddy.com commercials where they advertised their website on a woman’s chest? Funny or demeaning?

One of my least favorite commercials were the Doritos ones. I just don’t see the humor in a guy getting shocked by a dog collar or someone getting a Dorito stuck in the side of his neck. However, what was funny was that I was on Twitter dissing these commericals when I heard Kiana go into the pantry. When she came out she was carrying a Costco-sized bag of Doritos and begging me to let her have some for dinner. I don’t think a 4 year old was their target market but they definitely made an impression with her!

My favorite commercial had to be the Audi-Green Police. It was hilarious and they definitely got their point across. Next time I’ll definitely think twice before choosing plastic.

So which commercial was your favorite/least favorite?

My favorite was the google ad – the guy searches for flights to Paris, then chocolate places in Paris, then churches in Paris, then directions for how to build a crib. It was sweet, simple, and almost made me cry. I guess it’s kind of creepy how much google tracks us, but I really thought it was a lovely commercial (especially compared with some of those misogynistic and/or nakedness reveling ads!).

My favorite was the Letterman/Leno/Oprah commercial, which wasn’t really one of the expensive commercials, but it was funnier in my opinion than any of the others.

I thought the Google commercial was the best. No special effects. Just simple, straightforward, yet it was really effective.

I’ve never liked the GoDaddy adds. They are demeaning to women and I agree w/ you on the commercials; this wasn’t one of the best years for super bowl adds.

I liked the Leno/Oprah/Letterman add too. Thought it was one of the best.

Betty White and the Snickers Commercial was great and the other was the Doritios. These were the worst commercials I’ve seen on a Super Bowl in years.

I didn’t watch the Superbowl … so I don’t have a favorite. But I did love the story about Kiana! That is really great!

You want to know something funny: One of my good friends actually KNOWS that anteater in the commercial. Yes ma’am, I know someone who knows a star! LOL

I loved the Snickers Betty White commercial and I did like the Doritos dog collar one because I don’t like any dogs getting hurt, so the owner deserved to get zapped. I love that photo of Kiana and I think the story is just hysterical… :-)
