Living In TV Land

Which tv show would you pick to live inside for a week?

At first I thought of Grey’s Anatomy. However, I don’t think my weak stomach could handle those gorey medical scenes.

Desperate Housewives? Nah, I don’t have the time or energy to try and look my best every single moment of the day.

It has to be Brothers & Sisters.

Is anyone else out there watching this series? It’s about a mother (Sally Field) who finds out after her husband (Tom Skeritt) dies that he was having an affair for the past 20 years. She has 5 grown children who are all different in their own way . . . the working mom, the single strong-minded daughter, the drug addict, the gay lawyer, and the son who desperately wants to have a family of his own.

I’ve always wanted to be a part of a large family. I love the way they all tease and fight and disagree and yet stand by each other’s side in their times of need. It’s chaotic but yet reassuring to know that you’ll never be alone in the world.

Can I work with Dr House, lol Or maybe go to Queens and visit Doug and Carrie from King of Queens. Maybe even Jim on According to Jim. I guess Its obvious that I don’t know where to spend the week lol

  2. Dana says:

I always wanted to be part of a large family too…..I think it would be cool with never a dull moment and the comaradarie that would come from it…but hey, that is probably just an illusion – ha ha. As far as the tv shows….I always thought it would be cool to be in The Waltons (do you remember that show from long ago?) or Little House on the Prairie. Although I like the modern conveniences…but I loved those shows and the Waltons with their large family and love was awesome!

You have mentioned 3 of my must see TV shows! I also like What About Brian & I am getting into October Rd. Now, I don’t know if I would want to live in any of them. I could live in Everybody Loves Raymond because he acts EXACTLY like my husband! Dufus!

Like Dana (above me) I always wanted to live in Little House on the Prairie. And I always wanted to b a Brady too!

Although there are lots of shows that would be fun to live in, I think I would choose Friends. It looks so much more like my life was at one time and I think it would be fun to hang out and drink coffee all the time. But, if you look at my life now, it would probobly be Desparate Housewives, it just seems appropriate.

  5. Karen says:

Well, my very first thought was, “It SURELY wouldn’t be LOST!” ;)

I guess I’d most fit in on “Everybody Loves Raymond.” The sarcasm and teasing and general fun is very similar to my own family. :)

I love that show..it wouldnt be a bad thing to live on it for a week. I too would not pick desperate housewives. I dont know which other show i would want to live in for a week…I like House, but I don’t think I could stand a whole week with him, and 24…to dangerous. The new show that was on last night…notes from the underbelly…that show seems pretty funny. But I would probably agree with you..brothers and sisters would be a pretty good choice.

I love Brothers and Sisters. Great cast, great writers.

But to live in a show? Wow… that requires a lot of commitment. And the shows I like have lots of drama in them. I don’t particularly like a lot of drama in my OWN life though! Like Medium? Nooooo thank you. Don’t want to start having dreams of dead people. And Desperate Housewives? Too much death and craziness. And your house could blow up or burn down!

  8. sugarmama says:

OMG! That is my new TV addiction! Brothers and Sisters show is soooo good!

I also find myself watching Little People a whole lot. I just love it

  9. Angela says:

I’m with Tracey…too much of a commitment for me to live in a show–even for a week. Especially when my favorite right now is Lost…don’t think I’m ready to be stranded on an island with “the others”…but it sure is fun to watch from afar and in the safety of my own home!

I was thinking Brothers and Sisters before I even read your answer. I love that show! I know I wouldn’t want to live in Lost or Jericho! Not the hospital shows either because I would probably end up being one of the patients. I couldn’t do the
CSI shows because they would make me sick and there is too much drama on Wisteria Lane for me. My newest guilty pleasure to watch is Workout on Bravo. I wouldn’t mind living there for a few months so I could get into shape. I think I watch too much tv.

Brothers and Sisters ROCKS! I love the fact that even though it is supposed to be a drama it still is somewhat funny.

I come from a family of eight siblings. We aren’t as witty as this one, but we have our share of stories. I hope that I don’t have to wake up one day and find out that my dad has had an affair for 20 years! It is fun to be part of something so large. I love get togethers with my family. Sometimes when my mom tells me something and I turn around and call my sister I find myself thinking of B & S and their family phone tree when gossip occurs. So in someways…it already feels like I am living in this show.

I think it is why I like it so much. Out of all the shows that are out there right now, I think this one is the most realistic. The show is so character driven. I get so attached to them and what they are going through.

If it wasn’t this show I would love to work in Hero’s…but only if I had “special abilities” and was a good guy. In fact I would want to be the one to take down Sylar!

Show I would live in for a week? Dog the Bounty Hunter, so I could hang out on the Island, yah.

  13. Pamela says:

What a tough question. I would have to think about this a long long time.

I was one of 8 kids, so I know what it was like growing up that way.
The biggest problem is finding time to keep in touch with them and their families, remmbering special birthdays and anniversaries…
and figuring out who to include on a vacation visit when your own children live so far away you never get to see them or your grandchildren enough either,

was that a rant, or what.

  14. Renee says:

hummm… I don’t think that I watch anything that I would want to live in.

I would like to do a family version of “$40 A Day” cuz I’m so sure that we could as a family go anywhere and live on less than $40 per day for food. Of course part of that is that places serve way too much food, so sometimes all 3 of us can share a meal…you should see the waiter’s eyes when we tell them we’re doing that. (”there went my tip!”) LOL!

Family travel tip #1: choose a hotel that has a free breakfast. Hampton Inns are so cool ‘cuz it’s free and hot.

  15. Melissa says:

Do I get PAID to live in the show? lol I would say The Office. I love the quick wit and the practical jokes – that show makes me laugh so much!

  16. Christine says:

I LOVE Brothers & Sisters and not just because Rob Lowe is so darn cute. The acting is great and the writing is fantastic. I’m a huge fan. I’m taking notes to prepare when my five kids get to be adults.

  17. Elizabeth says:

I am the eldest of four kids and I absolutely looooove my siblings and the young adults they are growing into. It’s so fn to get to share in somone else’s life, loves and adventures and to have them share in yours.

  18. amy says:

That is such a hard question because honestly I watch shows that I would NEVER want to live in…Grey’s (too much), Desperate Housewives (I wouldn’t have the energy to get “made up” every waking moment), CSI: (too much gore), Prison Break (not good on the run). So maybe I would just continue to watch them :)

  19. Amy says:

I only have one brother, but married into a family of eight siblings! I have well over 35 nieces and nephews! Big families are awesome and we all get along believe it or not. Honestly, I cannot think of one fight anybody has had since I’ve been in the family. Miracles happen!

Not sure what tv show I would pick. That’s a tough question!

  20. Michelle says:

I’m not so fun, I’d probably choose a home and design show. That probably doesn’t count though does it?

Or maybe Law and Order, I’d love to try and beat Jack McCoy to the solution.

  21. poppy fields says:

I like the Brother and Sister’s show, even though I’ve only seen it a few times when visiting the USA. I always fantasized about living in New York, so maybe one of the shows filmed there.

  22. gin says:

bwhahahahahh swim 3,462 miles in the Atlantic Ocean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I nearly died of heart attack laughing out loud!

  23. Jen says:

The best scene in Brothers and Sisters was when the stepsister was told the truth, by the oldest sister. I like the show, but Calista bugs me.

I would love to be on Grey’s anatomy, love the blood and guts!! But for fun, I would have liked to be on Studio 60, enjoyed the writing and pace of that show, too bad it didn’t catch a following.

  24. Mike says:

Scrubs without a doubt. That show cracks me up to no end. I want to break into dream sequences and choreographed songs throughout my work day and have constant feuds with the janitor just to keep the day interesting.
