And The Word Of The Year Is . . .

w00t (interjection): expressing joy; similar in use to the word yay.
At least that’s what Merriam-Webster says.
According to the publisher of the leading U.S. dictionary, w00t (spelled with zeros and not o’s) represents the growing use of numeric keyboards to type words in the gaming industry. Says company president, John Morse, “People look for self-evident numeral-letter substitutions: 0 for O; 3 for E; 7 for T; and 4 for A,” he said. “This is simply a different and more efficient way of representing the alphabetical character.”
Coming in a close second was the word facebook. Now that’s a word I understand.
Oh well, I guess it could have been worse. Some of the other contenders were sardoodledom, quixotic, and Pecksniffian. Huh?
What is your word of the year?

I didn’t know there has to be a word of the year. In Japan, there is a Japanese character of the year – a kanji (jap character) that sums up to the events of the year. I look forward to it every December.

It would have to be n00b in this household. Apparently, being called a n00b is NOT a good thing. The boys get quite upset if someone calls them that.
I guess it means being new, or a newbie, at something. *shrug* All I know is that it gives me leverage whenever the boys get on my nerves. *evil laugh*
I’ve got two and they’d be:
