Where in the World is Kailani?
So, guess where I am?
I can tell you that it’s definitely not in Honolulu.
Yesterday morning we called the airlines and found out that all our flights out of Los Angeles and San Diego were completely sold out for the next few days. Since DH has to work on Wednesday, staying longer was definitely not an option. We started calling all our code share partners to see who flies to a city that our airlines services. We finally decided on Alaska Airlines since they offered us $25 tickets stand-by. The only problem was that we would be flying into Seattle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Seattle. It’s just that I would prefer to go home.
After nine hours sitting in the terminal, 5 full flights, and two very tired children, we were finally on our way to SeaTac. I guess that’s the price you pay for using your flight benefits.
So yes, now we’re in Seattle. While we were checking into the hotel, we saw some of our friends who will be on the flight crew tomorrow. They said our chances of making it home are good.
So, in light of all this, the posting of the winners for the Photo Contest probably won’t get done until late on the 22nd (provided I can get home).
Also, the Carnival of Family Life is up at Be a Good Dad. Please stop by and check out all the great family-related posts he received this week. Thanks again, Mike, for taking over while I’m on vacation. I really appreciate it!
See you all when (and if) I get back!

I hope you get home soon, and safely.
sorry you are getting the fly-around! I Hope you are home safe and sound and happy soon.
Definitely one of the downsides of flying standby – sometimes you don’t know when you’ll get to your destination! Have fun while you can, and I hope you get home soon!
was it as c-c-c-cold there as it was on this side of the state??
Have a safe trip home!
Oh, I don’t have good memories of SeaTac! That’s where we began our flight trek to Korea. I think I posted about that too. the worst part was we got to the gate very early and I talked to the gate agent while DH called his folks…turns out our flight had been canceled and they put us on a flight that was leaving in like 10 min 5 gates away. I’m screaching at DH to get off the phone because we have to run across the airport to catch another flight!!! And DH is like “calm down”…man I hate it when he does that to me.
I hope you have a better flight from SeaTac and make it home soon.
Yikes! Sorry to hear about the flight run-around. Have a safe trip home and don’t stress about the photo contest – just get to it when you can!
Good luck keeping the girls in good spirits!
I’m sorry that your trip is ending this way! :S I hope you get home without any trouble tomorrow!
I think most everyone would prefer Honolulu over Seattle
Good luck getting home!
My anti-spam word is honolulu, LOL.
