She Speaks!
Yes, at 2 ½ years old, Baby Bug is finally starting to speak in small sentences. Granted, it’s still hard to understand her and she does make up her own words at times but at least I know we’re moving in the right direction.
In fact, just the other day she said, “Momeee, dat my dee assssss!â€
Yup, that’s my girl!

LOL, you have to love toddler language!
Our kids sound one and the same. Both the same age and same verbal abilities. My son talks but 80% of the time we’re going “Huh? What?”. Luckily he has no interest in his sister’s “dee assss”. Yet.
My son is the same age and at the same stage – I love it. Except that all of a sudden he repeats everything we say!! Ohhh it’s dangerous! lol
Oops, I thought she meant something else! LOL
I love how she’s holding the stylus and such concentration! You go, girl!
I had to reread it too because I thought she meant something else. Haha! That is very cute and she continues to get cuter and cuter!
What a cutie she is! I love it when they start to talk & mispronounce things. Cracks me up!
LOL! At least she is learning the important things to say;)
I love to hear them talking especially when they just learning how to talk. It’s funny…
By they way, I will recommend this website for your daughter at starfall.com. This is how my daughter’s progress after two months. I appreciate it if you can watch it. click here
She’s adorable. In a couple of months you will LONG for the days when she was quiet! *LOL*
My daughter’s current favorite saying (of mine) is, “Brian’s being DISCO-bedient!”
I remember getting excited when my first grandson finally started communicating with odd little words.
I was so excited — and then my sisters granddaughter who was a month younger came popping in and said, “Hi, do you want to come play with me and my dollhouse?”
snort.
Too cute! She knows what’s important.
Yay! She speaks! Oh no….you realize she will no longer be silent, right?
*grin*
that is HILAROUS. my DH thinks so, too
Aww how sweet. She must learn from the best! I think baby bug is only about 3 months older than my daughter. Cool!
awwww very cute! and even cuter that she asked for her Nintendo DS!
good for baby bug! What a smart cookie. how do you stop from picking her up every minute and just squeezing her to death! What a cutie
Aw – how cute! I love this learning-to-talk stage!
That’s cute. It’s neat that you blog about it because sooner than you can imagine she will speak in full sentence without any toddler words..
But once she starts talking, you’ll wish she would be quiet. ha ha. AT least that is how it was with Brandon.
She is such a cutie!
That’s awesome!
Jack just loves “dog” & “uh oh”
Looking forward to sentences. Maybe a ways off, he’s 22 months and no older siblings to learn from.
I can’t believe that she is already 2 1/2! Next step, “my piiink D eeeeeeesssssssss”!
Look at the concentration on her little face!
That is so cute!
Yes, once Lindsay learned she could talk, she really isn’t quiet anymore! The cutest one I hear is “I Love Too”!
I have an award for you over at my site!
Sweet! She’ll be needing her own blog before you know it!
She is soooooo sweet. Love the picture!

That is a great picture. It looks like she loves that DS and the chair she’s sitting in looks so cozy too.

Too cute, and she looks so serious playing.
Like mother like daughter!!
Love the polka dots!!
She looks like she’s concentrating pretty hard on her Dee Asss too! And yes, their language will keep you laughing….
Ha ha! That’s so funny! It’s nice to know that Baby Bug is beginning to talk in sentences.
BTW, I have an award for you on my blog.
I’m also on my way out and would like you to know that my Aloha Friday is up.
LOL – toddler talk is the best. I love trying to figure out what my kids say, especially when they talk too fast.
Love the pink “dee assssss” I just won one and am trying to find games – looks like Baby Bug has something she likes
she is so cute. playing with a ds no less.
Well, at least she’s got her priorities straight.
I love that picture – she’s such an adorable little Baby Bug!
charlotte didnt really talk much till she was well over 2.5 either, but she had all her physical stuff down pat!
trisha
Kailani, what is her expected language progression? My son began speech therapy at 2.5 and worked with his SLP until the age of 7. And yes, there are days I long for peace and quiet again.
