Wish You Were Here
Well, we arrived safe and sound and are having a great time on Maui. Unfortunately, it looks like Baby Bug may be developing pink eye so we’ll probably have to find a clinic today.
The plane ride over was pretty cool since a good friend of mine, Aunty Z, was the lead flight attendant on the crew. She really helped me with the girls and even took them to the flight deck to meet the pilots.
The weather here is beautiful – warm and sunny! However, the vog from Kilauea on The Big Island is currently blowing over the Hawaiian Islands and is clouding up the skies. It’s especially bad here since Maui is closer to The Big Island than Oahu. Anyone with breathing problems are being advised to stay indoors until the vog clears. Needless to say, this is not good for my chronic cough!
The place that we’re staying at, The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, is amazing. I thought it was going to be a typical hotel but it seems more like a condo complete with a full-sized kitchen. The bathroom itself is bigger than Girlie Girl’s bedroom at home with a double headed glass shower and a separate whirlpool bathtub. I think they have some time share units available. Hmmm . . . .
