We see these white birds everywhere. Kiana thinks they’re ducks.

Heh, my son has the same problem! White bird = duck, even seagulls!

They’re egrets, a type of heron. They love to be around lakes and marshy areas. We have dozens of them around our community’s man-made lake. They love the really rainy weather because the lake level is extremely high, and fishing is so easy! We have Great Northern Egrets, Snowy Herons, and Blue Herons. It’s fun to see how many are gathered around when we drive to school in the mornings.

At least your daughter is in the ballpark. Alex thinks every animal is a dog and barks when he sees them.

We have them everywhere here in Florida also. Nano tries to chase them and doesn’t quite understand why they can fly away and he can’t. He looks up at them in the sky then at us with these really quizzical eyes, “Hey, what the heck happened?”
