Tsunami Watch for State of Hawaii
** UPDATE: The watch has been canceled. Hallelujah!

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a Tsunami Watch for the state of Hawaii following an 8.4 magnitude earthquake east of Kuril Islands in northern Japan.An investigation is underway to determine if there is a tsunami threat to Hawaii.
If tsunami waves impact Hawaii the estimated arrival of the first tsunami wave is 12:23 AM.

Apparently, there was a similar earthquake back in 1994 which did not affect the Hawaiian Islands. Let’s hope we’re as lucky this time.

Oh, I didn’t know this. My mom and grandma are in Waikiki/Honolulu for 3 months! And I will be taking my kids there for a visit soon, I hope the tsunami stays away!

I was watching that carefully. Glad you all stayed safe. I would really pain me for anything bad to happen to Hawaii. The earthquakes there were bad enough.
