Aloha Friday #108

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question is:
Being Friday the 13th . . . are you superstitious?

I think the older that I have gotten, the less superstitious I am. With that being said, I was never too superstitious really.

For the most part no… but that doesn’t mean you will see me walking under a ladder. HA HA HA
Well, since I didn’t even realize that tomorrow was Friday the 13th, I guess I’ll have to say no

Not really, but I will tell you that I did not like working on Friday the 13th.
(I worked in a bar … and it seemed like all the crazies came out that night!)

HA, I used the same question today, great minds think alike.
I’m not really. I do believe in Fate and Soul Mates, and that everything in life happens for a reason. Even if you never figure out what that reason is.

Not really though I think it wouldn’t hurt to at least follow a precaution because of a superstition. I don’t however blame events on superstitions.

Nope, my girl’s birthday is on a 13th and as I tell her, “It’s the best days of the year, because it is special.” 13 has always been my favorite number also – no one ever picks it, so I win every time.
I totally am…even though I think it is silly I also think it is better to be safe than sorry!
Huh, I didn’t even realize that today is Friday the 13th until I read this! Nope, I’m not superstitious – at least about that. I do tend to knock on wood on occasion though, when I feel it’s warranted. You never know…
No, I’m not superstitious at all. Although, some may think so since I refuse to walk under a ladder. It’s not that I think it’s bad luck, it’s more for safety.

Amy @ Coffee with the Mrs.´s last blog ..Aloha Friday 11-13
I’ve never been superstitious. I always looked for good things on Friday the 13 and would point them out to my paranoid friends. Then I met my husband and Friday the 13th became even better. He was born on F13 as was his youngest brother. He proposed to me on F13 and we would have been married on that day but it never comes on Saturday. Now we celebrate whenever we have an F13. We had planned to see 2012 and go out to dinner, but his parents are coming into town unexpectedly and will stay with us. So we’ll go out to dinner with them and save the movie for another time. Friday the 13th is always a great day!

Not really, but I’ll still play it safe for the obvious superstitions.

No, not really. I do remember, back in the day when I was young and hip, lol…and I would head out for drinks after work, I remember being wary on Friday the 13th because there always seemed to be a lot more crazies out…more accidents, more bar fights or weirdos on the loose.
Sorry I screwed up my linky!
well I didn’t really realize it was until now, so no not really

Not at all….My parents were actually married on Friday the 13th and they are still married 34 years later. So I guess you could say that it is a lucky date for my family! :0D
No, I can’t say that I am. However, I have sometimes thought twice about doing something, like breaking a mirror or walking under a ladder. Now my dad? He FREAKS out if you open an umbrella inside. We do it to torture him. ::snicker::
Not too much. In fact I didn’t realize today was Friday the 13th until just now!
Uh. oh. I try not to be but I am easily freaked out!

Nope, I am not superstitious at all. In fact, my birthday is on the 13 (of October), so I kinda consider the 13th my lucky day.

I am a little, I won’t open an umbrella in the house, won’t walk under a ladder, mirrors, etc. The standard superstitions I believe in.
I really don’t have time to be superstitious.

No, I’m not. Lots of angels around me!
I would have to say to an extent. I do believe in throwing salt over you shoulder if you spill it, I do not walk under ladders, I knock on wood and I don’t let anyone open an umbrella in my house nor do I open one inside anywhere.
I am off to post my question.
Nope, the number 13 is my lucky number.

I’d like to say “Of course not” ~ but, LOL, I do have some superstitions! Like, “Don’t step on a crack, you’ll break your mother’s back” ~ I swear that is still in my head as I head off on power walks almost every morning! Also, as a 4 year cancer survivor, my hubby and I are still superstitious about wearing our “Believe” bracelets – just makes us feel better and more secure and hopeful, I guess! Happy Friday to all!

I had to stop and think about this and I think the answer would be no. The reason I wasn’t sure is because I do get spooked about things (I used to hate to fly) but it’s not for superstitious reasons. I know some people who won’t stop a microwave or gas pump unless it’s on an even number. THAT’s superstitious!
Shannon´s last blog ..Apparently, We’re Not Allowed To Speak.
There are a few things that I don’t take chances with (walking under a ladder, I cross my fingers), but I’m not really superstitious. I will say that, after working in a hospital, the crazies really do come out, and more babies ARE born on Friday, the 13th. I don’t care WHAT the scientists say!
