My Baby Clothes ($25 GC Giveaway)

Kaila has a lot of clothes which is no surprise since she does have two older sisters. Therefore, I really don’t feel the need to purchase new clothes for her unless it’s something that I really want. And after checking out My Baby Clothes, I think we’ll be adding to Kaila’s wardrobe very soon.

As mothers, we understand that you want the best for your children. We try to give you the best of the best in the market without having to pay high prices. Many of our designer baby clothes come from famous designers like Nicole Miller, O’Neill, Jamie Rae, Bonnie Jean, and Mud Pie.

We had the opportunity to select an item to review and decided on the Mud Pie Little Sprout Sundress ($24.99). What I really liked were the bright colors which is perfect for Spring and the cute ribbon flower. So feminine! I figured when Kaila wore it no one would even guess that she was such a tomboy.

When it arrived, Kaila couldn’t wait to put it on. She was so excited that once I got it over her head she started dancing and twirling around. I thought I would never get a decent photo of her. And once our little photo shoot was over she refused to take it off. This is coming from a kid who refuses to wear clothes whenever she’s at home. Seriously!

What I like about our Mud Pie Little Sprouts Sundress are all the details that make it so adorable. The polka dot ribbon flower, the three-tiered fluffy skirt, the grosgrain ribbon belt that ties in the back, and the super soft 100% machine washable cotton fabric.

I also love how well made this dress is. All the seams are reinforced and the biases top stitched which means that this outfit will hold it’s shape and last for a very long time.

But the best part is that it’s just so darn cute! This is the perfect dress for a special party, photo shoot, or hunting Easter eggs. The colors look great in person and in photographs. And I don’t know about you but bright colors always puts me in a great mood.

So stop by My Baby Clothes and check out their kids clothing as well as tutus, baby clothing, baby headbands, and even baby hats. There’s something there for every child!

WIN IT!

SlickSugar Kids Apparel & Accessories (Giveaway)

I’m a big supporter in the continuation of Performing Arts programs in our schools. My daughters are all artistic by nature and it would be a real shame if they didn’t have the opportunity to develop their talents in the public school system. So when I hear about companies who also support this cause I’m all for promoting them. SlickSugar is one of these great companies.

SlickSugar donates a percentage of the proceeds from their cute new graphic “Keep the Music Alive” tees to support the non-profit organization Little Kids Rock, a national nonprofit that transforms children’s lives by restoring and revitalizing music education in disadvantaged public schools. They provide free music classes and instruments to underserved schools.

One reason Little Kids Rock is so successful is that once teachers are trained in the foundation’s philosophy and techniques, a new local program can be up and running quickly. There is absolutely no cost to the school. Little Kids Rock builds on the expertise and skills of music teachers and gives schools the flexibility to offer classes within the school day or as after- school enrichment. As the foundation proudly proclaims, “all instruments are donated so every child has the chance to learn, play and rock out.”

We recently had the opportunity to review the “Keep the Music Alive” kids tee ($26) for ourselves and Kiana really liked it! We found this 100% machine washable cotton tee to be very well made. The seams are reinforced and/or top stitched to ensure durability. There are no scratchy or pokey seams and the overall feel is very soft.

I did notice that the cotton material is a little thicker than what we’re used to which is actually great for the cooler weather we’re having now. Plus I you can tell that it will withstand many many washings. It’s also a little stretchier than the usual cotton tees we have so I was surprised that it’s 100% cotton. It kind of feels like there’s a little lycra in it which gives it a nice shape and makes it move with Kiana rather than against her.

However, the best part is the important message it portrays . . . “Keep The Music Alive”. Simple yet vital.

So if you want a shirt that is not only comfortable but will go a long way to helping kids experience the magic of music, check out SlickSugar today.

Every day is a free shipping day at SlickSugar.com! Gotta love that!

Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy

As big fans of all thing Veggie Tales, we were really looking forward to watching Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy. Like all the other Veggie Tales movies, this DVD is faith based without coming across as being overly preachy. It’s entertaining for the kids, a great reminder for parents, and just pure fun.

In this Veggie-version of a holiday classic, Junior Asparagus stars as The Little Drummer Boy, a lonely child who finds the true meaning of Christmas when he stumbles upon the birth of the baby Jesus. A story of generosity, hope and love, this timeless tale will warm the hearts of children everywhere!

If you’ve never seen a Veggie Tales show before you’re in for a big surprise. All the characters are talking vegetables that also sing and dance. The opening song is the familiar Veggie Tales theme song which my kids know by heart. It’s probably one of their favorite part of each episode.

The show starts of with Junior Asparagus entertaining his family and the animals with his drumming. One day his parents are eventually taken away and his home burned to the ground by the Romans. So, Junior decides to set out with his animal friends to live a life of solitude. Along the way he meets some shady characters who use him and his talents for monetary gains. They even sell his camel for a few coins. Of course, this all makes Junior very upset and vengeful. This all changes when his pet lamb gets hurt and he’s led to the newborn Baby Jesus for help. This is when he sings his classic song.

Now, I’ve always known the words to The Little Drummer Boy but it wasn’t until I saw this Veggie Tale story that the meaning really hit home.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That’s fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?
Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.

For my girls, they loved hearing the story about the life of The Little Drummer Boy and seeing these talking vegetables really caught their attention. They even learned a few lessons on forgiveness, generosity, and the true meaning of Christmas. It’s definitely one of our favorite holiday DVDs.

Purchase your copy of Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy for $8.99 for Amazon.com.
