Casting Call Auditions – February

The Casting Call Auditions are now closed. Thank you for your participation.

Thank you to everyone who participated in last month’s casting call. You guys were hilarious! A special thank you to our winner – Renee & Darly of fefyfomanna. See them hanging out in my sidebar? This month, it could be you!

For those not familiar with it, this is how it works. Auditions run for about 48 hours. During this time you should leave a comment showing off your virtual talents – singing, dancing, juggling (hee hee), etc.) – and shining in the spotlight. Everytime you “audition”, you’ll also need to visit the person who came before you and leave a comment on their blog. You may want to mention that you’re visiting via The Casting Call so they know what’s going on. The person who comments after you will stop by your blog and leave a comment with you. . . and so on. Make sense? Feel free to come back and audition as many times as you wish. The more times you audition, the more visits you’ll get from other bloggers.

What do you think? Not only will you get to meet new bloggers and hopefully increase traffic and comments to your blog, a random winner will also be selected to receive a cool button to display, a permanent spot on my blogroll, and a place in the sidebar. In other words, the more you audition the better your chances of winning.

So if you’re ready, The Casting Call Auditions are about to begin. Warm up those vocal chords, dust off the piano, or maybe even take out the tap shoes – whatever your talent is, now it’s your turn to shine in the spotlight!

Oh how cool! I have a star on the walk of fame! hee hee

    Well I wasn’t going to audition this time since I was already a winner…but you’ve inspired me…

Can I lose my need to impress?
If you want the truth, I need to confess

    I’m not all right
    I’m broken inside
    Broken inside
    And all I go through
    It leads me to You
    It leads me to You

  3. Tara says:

    Oh I LOVE auditions…

I am climbing the ladder to my tight rope high above the ground. I am dressed in a fabulous sparkly pink sequined outfit that shows off my perfectly formed size 2 body. I reach the top of the ladder and take a bow to my thousands of cheering fans.

I step out onto the tight rope and walk gracefully to the middle of the rope. I am poised in mid air… and I raise my arms and do a back flip landing perfectly on the tight rope. The audience gasps and applauds.

I poise gracefully and then walk on my hands to the other side doing marvellous balancing poses along the way.

I reach the other side of the tight rope and gracefully step onto the platform. I wave and bow to my adoring fans.

    Thank-you thank-you thank-you….

  6. I may be a middle-aged Gramma, but I can still stand on my head.

    Drum roll, please! (rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat)

I am now standing on my head. (rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat)

I am still standing on my head. (rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat)

And, yes, you guessed it; I am STILL standing on my head.

Not bad for an old lady, eh?

O, but now the old bladder is telling me it is time to end this wonderfully entertaining moment.

I gracefully somersault into a normal standing position and sway back and forth as I try to get my bearing.

    OK, there. Ta-da!

Thank you, Thank you! I’ll bow as soon as the headache and dizziness go away.

Here’s the chorus of the Pick-A-Little song sung but the gossipy town ladies in The Music Man. I was a pick a little lady at my local college’s presentation of The Music Man during my senior year in high school. It was a blast!

Pick a little. Talk a little. Pick a little. Talk a little. Cheep Cheep Cheep. Talk a lot, pick a little more.

  9. Heather says:

After tying on my skates, I skate to the center of the rink (roller, that is). The disco ball scatters light across the floor and walls.

    Skating and singing…

You put your left foot in,
You take your left foot out,
You put your left foot in
And you shake it all about.
    You do the hokey pokey
    And you turn yourself about.
    That’s what it’s all about!

    Right foot…

Thank you. Thank you very much! Really, you’re too kind.

So, I just flew in, and boy! are my arms tired!

    ba dum bum

Did you hear the one about the chess tournament? It seems there was this big chess tournament taking place in a huge, old hotel. At each break the contestants would retreat to the lobby to drink coffee and brag about who was the greatest, the smartest, the toughest. They made quite a racket and when they argued the sound would reverberate through the high-ceilinged, marble lobby.

Another guest, annoyed by the hubbub, called the front desk and said: “What’s all the noise? Is there a riot in the hotel?”

The desk clerk responded: “Oh, no sir. That’s just some chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.”

    ::crickets chirping::

    Ookaaay.

Did you hear about the orchestra that was playing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony? As you know, the 9th is a very long piece, and there’s a chorus that sings only in the final movement. The group had been practicing and performing, and some of the bass singers became bored with sitting quietly and waiting for their turn to perform. They decided to sneak out to the bar next door and have a few drinks, so they tied a string around the score, tapped one of the tenors on the arm and asked him to yank the string when their turn was coming up.

A long while later there was a huge yank on the string and the basses, who by now were pretty sloshed, made their way noisily back into the concert hall. As they clambered back to their places on the stage the conductor looked up in horror and said to himself: “Uh oh. It’s the last of the Ninth, the score is tied and the basses are loaded!”

    ::more crickets::

Did you hear the one about the guy who walked through a cemetery and came to an open grave and when he looked into it he saw Mozart sitting there with a musical score on his lap? So Mozart has a huge eraser in his hand and he’s erasing the score, and erasing and erasing, and the guy says: “Mozart, what are you doing?”

    And Mozart says: “I’m decomposing.”

Thanks. Thank you very much. I’ll be here till Thursday. Remember to tip your waitresses. Good night!

  11. Krista says:

Krista is waiting backstage at the international ice arena in her low cut sparkly Flamenco style skating costume… the music begins… in 3 steps she’s on the ice and building up speed.
The music is fast, but her skates are faster. Around and around the rink she goes, fancy red ribbons trailing from her hands. She twirls and dips, spins and jumps. All the while her hands and the ribbons make their own ballet in the air above her head.
Finally the music builds to a crescendo, she stops in the middle of the ice and does a quick Flamenco step in her skates and she’s done.
Red roses come cascading down from the audience, she has just won the competition!

For my first song I will sing You Have Lost That Loving Feeling

You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips
There’s no tenderness like before in your fingertips
    Now it’s gone…gone…gone…wooooooh

Now there’s no welcome look in your eyes
    when I reach for you.
And now your’re starting to critisize little things I do.
It makes me just feel like crying, baby
‘Cause baby, something in you is dying

    You lost that lovin’ feeling,
    Whoa, that lovin’ feeling,
    You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling,
    Now it’s gone…gone…gone…woooooah
