The Mommy Reviewers @ Mom Bloggers Club
Boy, you just never know what you’ll stumble upon in Bloggyland.
It all started with a inquiry from Mom Bloggers Club about placing an ad in my sidebar. After checking out their site, I decided that they would make the perfect house guest here on the island. After all, they are a group of Mommies dedicated to helping each other out through various networking channels.
After browsing through their site a little more and finding a few of my personal blogging friends there, I dove in head first and started making my presence known on the message boards by posting topics and answering others. Then I came across the “bonding” page and since I enjoy getting to know other Mommies, I joined a few groups there, too.
That’s when it hit me. Why not start my own bonding group? I thought and thought about possible topics that could bring a group of women together. Most of them were already taken . . . Moms with Daughters, Moms on Twitter, Western Mom Bloggers. I had to come up with something different.
Then it dawned on me the various requests I’ve been getting lately from people interested in doing product reviews. Not only from newbies but also from established reviewers interested in sharing contacts. Wouldn’t it be great to have a place where we can share review opportunities with each other? Or how about a one-stop place where PR companies could go to get a list of bloggers interested in reviews? Or it could serve as a place for people to get more information about breaking into the wonderful world of “free stuff”!

Interestingly, this week I received my first request from a company to review a product. Somehow they read a post I wrote in October about another of their products. I agreed to the request and 2 days later the package arrived. How fun is this?!?!
