Rejoining the World of Facebook

As most of you know, I used to have a Facebook account but decided to close it because I just wasn’t comfortable with my last name being openly broadcasted throughout the internet. I contacted the people at Facebook and was told that there was just no way around it. Oh well. I figured I wouldn’t miss it too much since I’m on so many other social networking sites.

I was wrong. I miss Facebook.

I don’t know why since I wasn’t on it every day like I am on some other sites. Maybe it was the pretty flower garden I had growing or the cool fishies swimming around in their tank. Maybe it was the pokes and gifts and compatibility quizzes and food fights. I don’t know.

Anyway, I’m back in the world of Facebook and I’ve tried to find as many of my previous friends as I could. However, if you didn’t receive a friend request but would like to be friends please let me know. You may find my page here. And no, that’s not my real last name. Shhhh . . . don’t tell them, k?

What are some of your favorite apps on Facebook?

I got your invitation! I am not so active in Facebook but I’ll log in again and check your page out.

I like the word you picked as your last name though. Very girly.

    I just went on a long drawn out deleting spree of applications (kinda like late spring cleaning?) but these are the apps which made the cut, thus making them my favorites;

-PackRat (not sure I can live without this one, I’m obsessed)

-scrabulous – I only have one friend that plays this with me but she’s a real Scrabble pro (beats me everytime!) and we play a bit every day – I guess other normal people have lives and don’t get around to posting a new word for days or weeks at a time if ever, but I get antsy if I have to wait a day and it seems she does, too.

a few other triva / word game apps I kept were: text twirl, word twist, smarty pants, and the traveler IQ challenge

I also really like pieces of flair – one of the few non-game apps, I just really like collecting cute witty buttons, and this one is a good one.

My newest find is: nations, in which you create your own nation and slowly over time deal with issues that define what kind of a nation it is. Kinda neat, still deciding if it’s a keeper but it doesn’t take up much of my time so I see no need to delete it.

goodreads books also has a Facebook App, which I keep on there, but only to show off my book collection without using multiple apps- I do all my goodreads activities on their website directly.

    Geez, I think I’m mildly facebook obsessed…

welcome back. i’ll have to look you up.

you must be able to just put in one letter for your last name because my son’s is just ‘jake v’. that would take care of broadcasting your last name.

I have a facebook account but I don’t use it at all. I much prefer myspace. If I deleted my myspace account i’d be super sad like you were about facebook. For some reason I just can’t get INTO facebook.
However, I’m LOVING Plurk right now!!

Welcome back to facebook! I actually don’t like it except that all my family is on it, many of my high school friends, and a host of other people I would never keep in touch with and haven’t seen for years if it weren’t for facebook.

But Funwall is my favorite – just because I can broadcast videos of my exceptional skateboarding baby to hundreds of people with just a few clicks!

I sent you a friend invite, too. I really like the book applications where you can keep up with what you’re reading and want to read. I also started doing the Pieces of Flair. It’s fun, but a little addictive because you have to find just the right button to send!! I do a lot of poking, too.

Huh, I guess I’m not so worried about facebook with my name and all. 99% of the people I know on facebook are people I already knew. So it’s more to keep up with friends in real life. And then a few bloggers that I’ve known for awhile and trust. :)
