In my quest to be more active with the social bookmarking sites, I’ve decided to explore Twitter. I even set-up my account to send/receive updates via my mobile phone. Who knows what I’ll see as I’m walking down the street! If you’re on Twitter, let me know so I can stalk follow you. Thanks to Leanne, I’ve also installed twhirl so I can periodically check updates on my desktop. It’s a pretty cool application. It’s like having a group IM party! We should all sign-up so we can chat away in live time! Wouldn’t that be cool? Do you Twitter?
Also, as you may have noticed I’ve added those social icons on the bottom of my posts by using a plugin called Slashdigglicious. Thanks to Psychicgeek for the info. Please feel free to click on any of those tiny buggers that you belong to.
Finally, I installed the Socialize Me plugin which is suppose to help connect with those people who are visiting my blog through a social bookmarking site. When they stop by they’ll see a message that says “Hi, thanks for the visit! Kailani’s on StumbleUpon, too!â€? with a link to my profile. I’m not sure if this is helpful or annoying. Let me know what you think.

Sadly, I can’t access twitter from the UAE. I would have loved to check it out!

I have a similar plugin for first time visitors to subscribe. I haven’t activated it, because I’m not sure how annoying that would be. If it’s only one time, it’s viewed, then it wouldn’t be a problem. The first time I saw a message like that, it kind of surprised me. I don’t know what do you think?

Problogger.net had a good post today (Jan 23) on the “9 benefits of Twitter”. After reading it I decided to give it a try. I haven’t linked it to my phone yet…but I do have it running on my blog. So far so good! I think it may be a good way for me to make my blog more personal.

I have no clue what the heck all that is, I guess I’ll have to read about it and check it all out. Well my dear I’m off to Hawaii early tomorrow, be looking for me, here are the places I will be at….Boots and Kimos, swap meet, zippys kaneohe, L and L, Kaneohe bakery for long johns, Pake’s…. Queens Hospital….almost forgot that one. North Shore to visit relatives and the Shrimp truck. Kailua beach…..wow I may need more than 7 days huh?

i just got twitter not too long ago - maybe a week or two at most. i’m enjoying it although i haven’t really seen any increase to traffic on my site because of it. however, it is a lot of fun and a good way to get around international text messaging rates to my friends in canada. lol. it’s good fun. i’ve set mine to follow your twitters. i’m japayuki on there.
