Kelly at Pass The Torch is raising money for St. Jude Medical Research Hospital. Please stop by her site and help her out. It won’t cost you a penny, just a comment.

Her corporate sponsor, Empowering Youth, Inc. will donate $1 for each comment she receives up to $500. How great is that? You’re able to leave 1 comment per day. If you tell her Local Girl sent you, I may be able to win a Hidden Treasure of Assets Board Game!

Please help support this very worthy cause!

And on a totally different note:

  • The Carnival of Family Life is coming back here in January and I need your help. We always receive a wonderful amount of submissions but only a few participants actually visit each other and leave comments. Any suggestions on how I can increase interaction amongst the bloggers?
  • I forgot to mention that Flirting with Forty will be going to Have a Great Rest of Your Day. Jenn won the random drawing! Congratulations! I think you’ll really enjoy this book.

no suggestions for the carnival, because I’ve been guilty of just that. I get so busy and there are so many to make it through some days I just don’t have the time.

I’ll be glad to go comment :) Also, it makes me feel really good that Flirting with Forty is still getting passed on! It’s going to be a very well traveled book! I enjoyed it soooo much! *hugs*

What I really liked about it is that it’s so authentic. I’ve actually been to most of those places named in the book. Great ending, too!

Yeah! I am so glad that I found you again, but so sorry to hear what happened. About the Carnival of Family Life could you possibly have some kind of comment contest in which the person that gives the most comments gets a featured spotlight the next time the carnival takes place- maybe with a little interview or something. if you need help just let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion! A kind of comment contest is a great idea! I’ll think it through a bit.

I am not sure how to get people to visit. I usually visit only half of the entries and I only comment on a few. There are just so many entries and so little time. I do like how the entires are sometimes seperated into catagories though, that usually helps me (along with the short description) decide which half I will be able to visit.

Maybe a prize of some sort? Maybe the winner would get the carnival hosting rights for a week but have someone else put it all together?

Ya, I really have no idea, just thinking (and typing) outloud.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can use all the advice I can get!

What if you challenged each participant to visit a set number – like five.. If you made it a manageable requirement it might be more likely people would follow through?

Or myaybe five they haven’t visited recently?

I don’t know- I read a lot more than I comment these days.

    Good luck!

It’s worth a shot. Thanks for the suggestion! Hey, your Links for Dollars campaign is going very well! Congratulations!

Hmmm… I had kind of noticed about people not reading my CFL entries, so I stopped submitting. I thought it was just me! :D I think people sometimes read but because there are so many entries, they don’t have the time to comment.

Maybe you could ask if people read another person’s entry, that they at least submit their link/name in a Mr Linky. Of course that would mean that all submitters would have to use Mr. Linky on their CFL post. Just a thought.
