Blog My Blog III

June 25, 2007

Welcome to the 3rd edition of Blog My Blog.

For those new to this, here’s how it works:

I will start with a question/phrase. The next person that comments, please answer the question above you. Once you’re done, include a question for the next visitor to answer. It could be a general question, fill in the blank sentence, or a general topic you’d like to hear about.

Then the next commenter will submit their answer and then think up something for the next person. Keep in mind that this is a family blog, so please keep it clean.

Let’s begin . . .

Which animal would you want to be for a day?

The first person to comment should answer this question and then leave another question for the next person.

Have fun!

Thanks to Adventures in Babywearing for this great idea!

Ooooo. Me first! Me first!

I’d love to be a little monkey and get into all sorts of mischief!

Now, for our next commenter:

You just won a bazillion dollars. After you give a bunch of moolah away to family and charities (we all know how giving and unselfish you are), what are the top 3 changes/rennovations you’d make in your house?

I’d add a second floor addition over the garage and playroom. One of those rooms would be an theater room. The other would be a craft room. I’d get geothermal heating. And thirdly, I’d do whatever it took to improve drainage so it flows AWAY from the house.

Ok,….my question…..
What nuggets of advice do you want your kids to know about marriage? (brought up b/c my blog post today is about a few things I want my kids to know about marriage BEFORE they get married)

That marriage is a compromise - you give, you take. And communicate! Your spouse can’t read your mind. And know yourself BEFORE committing to another person - that’s SO important!

We all want our children to grow up and be successful. And I’m sure we’ll support them in whatever field they decide to pursue. BUT, if we could choose a career for our kids, what would it be?

What do you REALLY REALLY wish you could tell a new mom but you know she will just have to figure it out on her own?

I’d love to tell a new mom that she DOESN’T have all the answers, she WILL be like her own mother, and that the time simply slips through your fingers like sand, so build sandcastles with your kids NOW.

What is the one thing you swore you’d never do, and yet find yourself doing anyway?

The one thing a lot of us say that we end up doing is being just like one of our parents. My dad, when I was growing up would always say he didn’t want to be just like his mother…Well, who does he act like his mom…and inturn I act just like him..LOL!

If you could go anywhere in the world for a long relaxing weekend, where would you go and what would you do? No money restrictions at all! :-)

Fun! To answer, I live in southern Italy (and it’s BOILING HOT right now) so I think I’d choose to go somewhere mountainous with snow, a nice cabin, hot cocoa, and of course my wonderful fiance to keep me warm :)

Question: What is one thing that you don’t do well that you really wish you could?

That’s a tough one. I wish I was a better listener. I have a tendency to zone off after a while. Especially if I’m in the middle of something else.

Question: what is the most used room in your house besides the kitchen and bathroom?

BTW - Kailani, I love this idea!!

Our great room. It’s right off the kitchen, it has a few toys, a comfy couch AND the TV. It’s where we are all the time — when we’re not in the kitchen or bathroom.

(Or maybe I should be honest and say my office. Because that’s where my computer is.)

My question: Where (country/state) did you grow up? And would you raise your kids there?

This is a bit of a tough question. I was born in and lived in Indiana in the the US until I was 11 years old. Then we moved to South Florida, and I lived there until I was 21. I then moved back to Indiana.

Would I raise my kids in either of those places? I would raise my kids in Indianapolis - things have changed quite a bit since I lived there, but I wouldn’t want my kids growing up in South Florida.

My question: You’re having a dinner party, and you can can invite five VIPs (living or dead). Who are they and why?

5 VIPS? Ooh. I am in the mood for a fun dinner party, so I would totally invite Conan O’Brien, Will Farrell, Steve Carell, Chris Farley (RIP), & Molly Shannon.

Thanks for resurrecting this edition of Blog My Blog! I’d forgotten all about it!

Ok- my question: which celebrity do you think you look like and/or people tell you that you look like?

Actual dancing, I went to the Brazilian ball with my husband (fundraiser) back in April. Didn’t expect to be dancing, but when you’re pulled onto the dance floor by half-naked Brazilian male dancers, it’s hard to refuse. Therefore killed my feet in new stilettos - all in the name of beauty, though, right?
I do a hip-hop dance aerobic class about 2 - 3 times a week for myself though, and it’s a blast.

I always think this is fun.

That depends on what else I was making for dinner. It could be derby pie, it could be cream cheese peanutty brownies, it could be cookie sundaes. Or even Coldstone if Im lazy.

If you could live anywhere, where would you most NOT want to live?

If money were no object, there would be three slightly related things I’d buy. The ultimate horse trailer with living quarters, the truck to pull it with and put in a swimming pool to relax in when we are not showing our horses.

I no it’s kind of “Stewart Smiley” but I think I would like to right something funny and empowering to moms. I think we all have guilt about everything and when is what we do ever good enough?

Question: If you were best friends with the best plastic surgeon in the world, what would you have done?

Mmmm - probably would have a bit of a face lift - just a little lift - have a couple of wisdom lines (as I call them) that I don’t really mind, but only because they are my best friend.
Now not sure if anyone else will come along after me, but my question is:

If money were no object what holiday destination would you go to?

My hubby loves yellow clothing. However it’s a hard color to find in mens clothes. I found these awesome yellow nike sneakers and bought them for him.

nothing is more romantic to me than getting someone something they truly love. maybe a bit materialistic, but it’s what he loves. :)
