Starbucks Moblie Pay Saved My Day
I’m currently on a 33 hour layover in Seattle and instead of shopping at Kohls or at the Southcenter Mall I’m sitting in my hotel room. Why? Because I FORGOT MY WALLET AT HOME! No cash, no credit cards, no ID.
Arghhh! I’m so mad at myself!
I’ve been waiting all month for this amazing layover and now I can’t do anything I had planned to do. Worse of all, I didn’t bring anything to eat with me! I thought, “How am I going to survive 33 hours without food or drink?” I could just imagine my crew members finding me on the hotel room floor passed out from starvation.
You should have seen me going through all my things just willing my wallet to magically appear. I did find $5 in one of my jacket pockets so at the very least I knew I could go to McDonalds and order off the Dollar Menu. I never thought I’d be so happy at the thought of a double cheeseburger.
Then I remembered that I recently installed the Starbucks Mobile Pay app on my iPhone 4. I had no idea if there were any Starbucks in my area so I did a search and crossed my fingers. I couldn’t believe it. There was a participating Starbucks in the shopping mall right across the street! So I headed on over there and stocked up on whatever food I could find. And when the Mobile Pay actually worked I almost cheered out loud! I think the workers thought I was a little crazy. Oh well . . .
Thank you Starbucks for saving the day!
With all the things that Kiana takes to school and on play dates, I have to remember to make sure label everything. Of course, I don’t always follow through either because I can’t find a proper marker or I just don’t have the time. Now with Name Bubbles, I have no excuse because they make labeling convenient and easy.
We had the opportunity to design and review our very own personalized label pack. I decided on the Waterproof Fun Bubbles in a pink and green polka dot design. The bright colors really caught my eye and the design just screamed FUN! I was also able to select with icon, font, and the name I wanted printed on the label. Everything about the design process ensured that I would receive the exact label I wanted.
And when they arrived, they looked even better in person! They were thick, bright, and crisp. I wanted to start labeling everything she owned! The great thing is that not only are they pretty but they’re also waterproof. This means I can also label tings like sippy cups and food container. And if I really wanted something more industrial, Name Bubbles also make labels that are dishwasher safe and machine washable.
So if you want a fun and colorful way to make sure you get back all your kids things when they leave the house, think about labeling them (the toys not the kids) with Name Bubbles!

LeapFrog’s Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket
When I first saw the LeapFrog Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket ($21.95), the first thing I noticed was the bright and pretty colors. As a person who believes that visual stimulation is important in a child’s learning process this was the main reason we decided to review this product.
The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket helps little learners explore shapes, colors, manners and more! Over 30 audio responses encourage pretend play, and the 14-piece set helps children build motor skills as they sort, match, stack, empty and fill.
This picnic basket comes with:
- 2 forks
- 2 plates with places to hold various shaped foods
- 6 food items
- 2 cups
- a picnic mat
- a picnic basket to carry/store all your items
One of the things that I really liked about the Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket is the way the pieces feel. They’re made from a smooth plastic and all the edges are nicely rounded. No sharp corners or pointy areas. I also liked that the forks are oversized for tiny hands. The plates have recessed areas when Kaila can place the matching food shaped items in and everything just looks so fun!
The interactive picnic basket requires 3 AA batteries (not included) and has 2 settings – music and learning. The music feature plays songs that talk about shapes and colors. The learning feature will ask questions like, “Umm . . . yummy pie. Can you put the pie in the triangle spot?” or “How many forks to we have? 1, 2. We have 2 red forks.” Both of these features are controlled buy a cute butterfly button that changes the songs/messages each time your child presses it.
We found the LeapFrog Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket to be a great way to introduce Kaila to the wonderful world of learning.
