Coppertone Kids Review

With back-to-school being on the minds of parents and kids across the country this month, it’s all about being prepared. Closets have been scoured for pants that are long enough, new notebooks have been purchased in preparation for homework, and shiny white shoes have finally been brought out of the box.
But when it comes to the important supplies that can benefit your children’s health as they head back to class, Coppertone, the people who are experts in safety, have a few suggestions:
- Comfort, convenience, and safety are important in a backpack. Find one with wide, padded shoulder straps to distribute the weight over a large area of your child’s shoulder; an abdominal strap to distribute the pack’s weight evenly on his/her back, waist, and hips; and reflectors or reflective fabrics to add visibility at dusk or dawn.
- Students spend so much time staring at paper, it may surprise you to know that the higher the contrast, the more strain on your son or daughter’s eyes. If the school allows it, give your child yellow or green paper. These colors actually offer reduced contrast and brightness, easing the strain on their eyes.
- The sun’s rays are the strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and although summer is waning, the sun remains strong in fall. It’s still very important to make sure your child is properly protected during recess. Try a wide brimmed hat and be sure to apply sunscreen.
And when it comes to sunscreen, Coppertone has two new really great options: Coppertone Kids Pure & Simple, which is gentle and tear-free, and Coppertone Kids Stick, which is quick and easy to apply.
With a wide range of high quality suncare products for the whole family, we have always been impressed with the ease of use and performance of Coppertone products in the past. But considering how much I worry that my kids aren’t going to be fully protected (in every season), I was looking forward to trying these new ones out to keep away the harmful rays.
Between the end of summer and the start of school, we’ve had plenty of times to try out both of these Coppertone Kids products… and they’ve been great! I love not having to worry about burning, skin damage, premature aging or more and can rest assured that my daughters’ delicate skin is safe.
I really appreciate that the Pure & Simple Sunscreen Lotion is non-irritating, waterproof, fragrance-free, oil-free, dye-free and hypoallergenic, all while providing broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. This SPF 50 lotion feels smooth and non-greasy and no matter how much my kids run around in the sun, it doesn’t rub off. Plus, it retains its SPF for 80+ minutes of activity, so I don’t have to continuously worry about reapplying!
When it comes time to apply, however, the Stick SPF 55 Sunscreen is the ultimate in convenience. Although I use the Pure & Simple Lotion to cover most of my daughters’ exposed skin, it is difficult to get smaller areas such as on their face and ears. This stick is the solution! It provides the same great features and safety of the lotion but has the ability to get into tight spots with a simple swipe across the cheeks, under the eyes, behind the ears and more.
This year when you think of back-to-school, don’t just send your child off with that new backpack, be sure that you’re keeping their skin healthy as well with high quality, portable products from Coppertone Kids. These and all of Coppertone’s well-known and much-loved products can be purchased nationwide at food, drug, mass and Internet retailers and the latest news and information from Coppertone can be found on Facebook.

Although there are a great deal of things that I look forward to about summer (playing at the park, family picnics, swimming pools, etc), one of the aspects that I’m never all that thrilled about is having to continually shave my legs. Why do I always feel so lazy about it?
However, no matter if you’re in the I-shave-daily mentality or the I’m-planning-on-wearing-shorts-so-I-had-better-remember-to-grab-a-razor-sometime-this-month like me, a necessity for all of us is a good quality shaving cream. No one wants nicks or cuts and the company that knows that all too well is Skintimate.
Known for shave gels that help you re-discover smooth, radiant skin every time you shave, Skintimate has everything from invigorating scents to ultra gentle formulas that make it possible to find the line that’s right for you. But now they’ve taken their ever-popular and much-loved products and boosted their style so that you can be fashionably smooth in and out of the shower with the new Skintimate Limited Edition cans created by New York Fashion Designer Mara Hoffman.

Over the past few months, Skintimate and I have worked closely to create fun and fashionable cans that will instantly add a little style to your daily shower routine. Mara has created four new bold, colorful designs inspired by nature, world travel and fantasy. Revealed during New York Fashion Week in February 2011, the Skintimate Limited Edition designer cans will be available until September 2011 to add a splash of style to your daily beauty routine and come in four fun flavors:

I tried out the Skintimate Signature Scents in Raspberry Rain and not only did it have a wonderful scent and a smooth feel, but the fun designs really did catch my eye. Considering the number of times I’m going to have to reach for this can this summer, why not have it be pretty as well as functional?

American Living for JCPenney Review

With the arrival of spring and summer, that means things like graduations, concerts in the park, and weddings. Lots of weddings.
Aside from buying a gift, the only thing that I find myself fretting about prior to attending special occasions like these is what I’m going to wear. I want something simple yet elegant, trendy yet classic… and of course it has to be comfortable as well as flattering.
Recently I was introduced to a name that focuses on just that and was surprised that I had never come across it before: American Living. Found at JCPenney, I could see myself preparing for all sorts of upcoming events in quite a few of their fashionable spring dresses.
By delivering a timeless, classic style with a fresh, modern spirit and the versatility that our days demand, American Living allows you to look great and feel great effortlessly. From the weekends to work to special occasions, their collections are designed with a modern look that will last. The exceptional quality, incredible value, and lines for men, women, children, and the home can outfit all aspects of life easily.
When the American Living Sleeveless Eyelet Sundress arrived, I was ready to see how I could incorporate their style into my own life and wardrobe.
Described as “an elegant French eyelet tank dress was made for sunny days and relaxing getaways,” this light, strappy dress is just right for summer outings and occasions. The sweetheart neckline and empire waist make it just form-fitting enough to be flattering and the full skirt gives it the extra twirl and sway to make it fun.
Up close, the eyelet design of the fabric gives it a great texture and adds to the softness of the cotton and I appreciate the addition of the loop and snap on the underside of both straps to hold a bra strap in place.
When worn, I found I was slightly self-conscious of the openness of the top, but this dress does look just as cute with a light sweater, wrap or shawl as an extra layer.
The entire dress is also lined with a layer of white cotton underneath, but depending on your preference, an extra slip might also be an option.
Originally retailing for $100, the Sleeveless Eyelet Sundress is now $74.99 and is available in sizes 2 – 16. American Living has a size chart right on each page that I found to be very helpful in helping me choose one that fits perfectly… now I’m all set to dress this up with jewelry and heels for a fancier occasion or dress it down with sandals for one that is more casual.
Whatever your agenda calls for this spring and summer, JCPenney and American Living will have the apparel to keep your entire family outfitted comfortably and stylishly. Find their pieces in a store near you or view and order your favorites right online. JCPenney can also be found on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with their latest styles, promos, coupons, gift ideas, and much, much more.

PAAS Easter Egg Decorating Kits Review
April 19, 2011 by Xenia

As with most kids, my daughters like to celebrate Easter with more than just candy and chocolate – they want to dye eggs. Unfortunately for them, my husband will do just about anything to get out of being a part of the fun, claiming that his aversion to the smell of hard-boiled eggs makes him exempt. What a party-pooper!
This year, however, there was no way for anyone to not have a great time getting ready for the upcoming holiday thanks to the brand new line of egg decorating kits from the one and only PAAS.
PAAS has been around for more than 130 years and, as far as I’m concerned, Easter isn’t the same without their Easter egg dyes. This year, in addition to the other great products that they have to help you turn your eggs into any number of cheerful colors and designs, they have introduced five new kits:
- Pirate Princess: Packed with 90 stickers, color tablets, egg stands and more, this kit will inspire little pirates and princesses to dress up eggs with buried treasure, skulls and crossbones, tall ships and more.
- Wild Wheels: Hit the open road with PAAS Wild Wheels. Stickers and egg stands help transform ordinary dyed eggs into road-worthy hot rods.
- Fun Eggspressions: A great way to unleash creativity and “egg-spress” the artist within, this kit contains sand for color and texture, paint, stickers and more.
- Basket Buddies: Perfect for the pet lover, this kit lets you create egg masterpieces using stickers of cuddly puppies, adorable kittens and playful bunnies.
- Easter Traditions: Featuring some of our classic designs, this kit includes some of the traditional symbols of the Easter season.
We couldn’t wait to try out four of them!
Including the same great features (egg holders, tablets, clear instructions, etc) that we know and appreciate from PAAS, these new kits fit right in with this iconic brand.
We got right to work on preparing our dyes by dropping color tablets in with vinegar…
…while we checked out all of the fun items included and got started turning our eggs into fun spring colors.
Both girls really enjoyed the dying process quite a bit, but when it came time to take our dry colored eggs and decorate them, that’s when the excitement really set in.
These kits have so many great additions and features! All of the stickers were plenty easy enough for either of them to pull off and adhere to the eggs and the girls loved everything from the treasure to the puppies to the soccer balls.
With my help, we also tried out the fun EggArounds (plastic sleeves) and used the hair dryer to heat and shrink them right onto the egg. My 4-year-old was a big fan of the football egg and my 2-year-old kept pretending to pet the egg covered with puppies!
The girls were a little too young this year, but the Fun Eggspressions kit really caught my eye with the unique addition of paint as well as glue and sand to really encourage creativity!
With a high quality Egg Decorating Kit to match every interest, PAAS makes it easy to customize your own Easter tradition year after year. Visit their website for information on all of their great products, egg decorating tips (including how to prepare the perfect hard cooked egg), recipes, crafts, and much more.
The 2001 Kits from PAAS retail for $2.99 each and are available at major grocery stores, drug stores, and mass merchandiser chains everywhere. Pick one up today and add some colorful fun to your Easter baskets!
