About the Game
Swords pits you against the best of the best from past, present, and future in the ultimate sword-fighting contest. This is what you’ve trained for, this is your destiny. Make your way from the dojo to the Final Showdown, and prove that you are the greatest swordsman of all time!

Increase your skills and learn new combos in training challenges, like carving, sparring, blocking, and even battling a horde of zombies! Battle against 8 unique characters, each with a distinct look and home arena that represents their fighting styles – Sensei Musashi – Your sensei and adopted father. He will prepare you for the tournament. Rognir – This giant Viking chieftain swings a big sword and is looking to take your head off. Be alert and quick! Lancelot – Sir Lancelot is a brave knight of the round table. Using a broadsword and shield, his only weakness is his ritualized fighting style. Princess Aisha, the Generous – Aisha is a swift and dangerous foe. Catch her when she changes direction and exploit this short window of vulnerability. Captain Jack Rackham – A clever and nimble opponent who is also a first class scoundrel. Watch out for his cheating ways and his bag of blinding sand. Keiko Anamura – This flirtatious lady will lure you in with compassion before stabbing you in the back. Her temper is her greatest strength, and also her weakness Razor – The last of the Jumandi hunter droids, Razor comes from the distant future. Armed with laser swords and capable of incredible acrobatic moves, Razor almost seems undefeatable Mysterious final combatant – who will it be?

My Take on the Game
In Swords you are challenged to take on some fierce opponents. I have played games like this in the past, but never with the amount of moving around and physical action that this game allows. Being that the game is compatible with the WII Motion Plus, you really get to move and groove and you truly feel that you are swinging a sword against the person you are battling.

Being rated for Teens, with the violence and action in this, I would not recommend for younger children (though they might enjoy it).  There also was a two player mode in the game which is great, though I did not get to try this out as I did not have two motion plus controllers.

Overall a good game and one that I would recommend!

DVD Review – The Secret of Kells

kells1The Academy Award-nominated family film, The Secret of Kells, a stunning, sweeping story about the power of imagination and faith comes to DVD and Blu-ray on October 5, 2010! This delightful and dazzling movie will have the whole family gathered together, mesmerized by the beauty on the screen and the powerful and uplifting plot.

In a remote medieval outpost of Ireland, young Brendan embarks on a new life of adventure when a celebrated master illuminator arrives from foreign lands carrying a book brimming with secret wisdom and powers.  To help complete the magical book, Brendan has to overcome his deepest fears on a dangerous quest that takes him into the enchanted forest where mythical creatures hide.  It is here that he meets the fairy Aisling, a mysterious young wolf-girl, who helps him along the way.  But with the barbarians closing in, will Brendan’s determination and artistic vision illuminate the darkness against evil?

kellsHailed by critics and audiences alike as one of the most beautiful animated films of all time, The Secret of Kells (75 minutes) became the surprise nomination for Best Animated Feature at this year’s Academy Awards® and received acclaim from The New York Times, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Variety and more.  This animated masterpiece also hails from the producers of Kirikou and the Sorceress and Triplets of Belleville!

My Take on the DVD

In The Secret of Kells you are transported into a world unlike our own. The movie is a wonderful array of cartooning mastery along with beautiful music and a great storyline. I had not seen this movie in the past, and I and my family were transfixed by the movie and artwork, story and songs within.

Throughout the DVD, you are treated to beautiful Celtic music. One of the songs that I particularly enjoyed was Aisling’s song, as it was one that drew me in and made me forget about the others things happening in my life, at least for a moment.

Realize that the movie uses the “the old style” of cartooning, or rather 2D hand drawing and inking primarily. While it is different than what you will have seen in movies such as the Princess and the Frog, it is none-the-less spellbinding.

HALLS Provides Cooling Sore Throat Relief (Giveaway)

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentors #30: Angie & #40: Deb C!

Ragweed and hay fever are just starting to grip down on the country’s sinuses.  Many aren’t aware that an everyday product like HALLS® can help relieve those debilitating allergy-related symptoms.  HALLS® is already such a common and trusted product; you get a cough and chances are someone within 5 feet as a half-pack buried somewhere in their purse.

HALLS didn’t start out selling cough drops.

In 1893, the Hall brothers founded HALLS in Great Britain to manufacture soaps and jams. Soon they began to produce candy products such as caramels and traditional British favorites like chocolate limes and humbugs.

So what changed in the 1930′s?

HALLS invented its patented Mentho-Lyptus® formula, using a combination of menthol and eucalyptus, and began producing its popular cough drops. The rest, as they say, is history.

My Take on Halls Lozenges
I have been using Lozenges for some time, and why you may ask? Because they work. Lately, I have been very happy to find that they now have a sugar free option that for me seems to work just as find as the sugar laden ones.

Overall, these products work great when dealing with either allergies or colds when you throat feels like it just swallowed glass or maybe sand. Halls provides you with a great tasting cooling sensation that will help you come back to a feeling or normality.

If you haven’t tried Halls before, I highly recommend it.

My Take on the Fragrance

I tend to try and wear cologne every day. No, I am not the overpowering, need to go into the other room type of guy that you meet, but a little dab will do ya, is more like it for me.  Saying this though, I do like a scent that is distinct and which fits me, and this new fragrance by Harvey Prince does the trick for me on both fronts.

I tend not to pay large amount of money for my cologne, it is just the way I am, but I have to say that after using this, I might reconsider using this new product in the future.
