Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing heavy or thought-provoking. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants!
Today’s question is:
What is your favorite quote?
I hope you weren’t expecting anything earth shattering from me because here it is:
My greatest fear is that there is no PMS and this is my personality.

Wow, you really got me thinking. I have several quotes that I really like. One was by Anne Frank. Since it is late, I could not recall it exactly. In doing a quick bit of research I found another one from her that I like even more:
“Parents can only advise their children or point them in the right direction. Ultimately people shape their own characters.”
and the other one I really like:
“In spite of everything that has happened, I still believe that people are really good at heart.”

I have waaaayyy too many favorites to pick just one. I have a sampling of my favorites on my blog’s main page, so head over & check them out. I’m not sure if I’ll post a question or not. I suppose it will depend on whether I can come up with something!
Happy Weekend everyone!

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out –
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I heard Alistair Begg say that in one of his sermons. I don’t know if it is his quote originally, but I’ll give him credit for it.

I have two favorites:
Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows - by Helen Keller
And one about women:
Remember - Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did - but backwards and in heels.

LOL! Love your quote, Kailani. And can so relate to it.
Mine would be the one I have posted on my blog - it sums up my personality nicely, I think.
“I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime” - Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
3:13 pm
Mine is from Little Women. Marmee is speaking to Meg after she got so caught up in mothering that her marriage began to fail and depression started creeping in, “Get out more, keep cheerful as well as busy, for you are the sunshine-maker of the family, and if you get dismal there is no fair weather.” I had to look up the exact words, but this is so true in my home. My attitude towards life and family makes all the difference in the atmosphere of my home. Great question!

Does it count if I don’t know who said it? (Or if I’m really note sure it’s a “quote”?
Oh well, here goes,
You can’t control other people, but you can control the way they make you feel.

One of mine is, “My wish is not to mean everything to everyone but to mean something to someone.” I don’t know who said it, but I’ve seen it in a lot of places.

I have so many! I really love Einstein’s: “The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.”
I guess my question for today (which I won’t get around to blogging in a post *frown*) is how did we ever live without power?

My favorite is by Betsie Ten Boom, sister of Corrie Ten Boom, about whose family the book and movie “The Hiding Place” is: “There is no pit so deep that He (Jesus) is not deeper still.”
