Aloha Friday - Week 14

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

Today’s question is:

What’s one thing you’d like to improve on in 2008?

For me, it would probably be my organizational skills. I’ve always prided myself for staying on top of things but 2007 found me lacking. With all of Girlie Girl’s extra curricular activities, household responsibilities, being away for days at a time due to layovers, and blogging deadlines, I’ve been a little overwhelmed. I need to figure out a system to keep track of everything. That is my goal for 2008.

I am hoping to try to eat (and live) healthier this next year, so I think that one important thing that I’d like to improve on is my family’s diet. We need to eat a lot healthier than we do and hopefully I can find some ways to make that happen. :)

It’s a toss up between 2 things:

1. My health and fitness. I’ve lost 75 pounds . . . still losing and am determined to hit my ideal weight by the end of 2008.

2. My proficiency on the flute. I intend to intensify my study next year, as our band director is talking about a return performance at Carnegie Hall. Woohoo! To play there once was a dream come true. Twice is more than I could ever have hoped for. I also want to go to Switzerland to study for a week with Sir James Galway in his Master Class that he offers every summer.

My wife, Janette, and I are going the organizational route, too. We’re trying to figure a way to coordinate our “have-tos”, “want-tos”, and “should-dos” into some kind of repeating schedule next year. If it’s on the schedule, we can work together to make it happen, make room for the other to complete tasks, etc..

Hopefully, both you and we will both find a good system!

I think my goal will probably be to hone my photography skills…by taking some classes on how to really use my (our - hee hee) new camera. There is much to learn, as I’m sure you know!!!

I hate to make actual New Year’s Resolutions because it is like setting yourself up for failure. So, I make “plans” and then try to keep them. :)

Me? Technology, technology, technology (wow, that was annoying to type three times, lol). I have a lot of techie things I want to learn this year and hopefully master by the end of 2008.

I also want to take a Flash class with my husband. I think that would be a blast!

My eating habits, and exercise. I want to start feeling better about myself. When I am feeling sad, i tend to just want to eat, and i need to curb it.

Oh I think I have tons of areas where I could improve in 2008 LOL!
But the main one would have to be like you….my organizational skills. If I could learn to be more organized I know I could be more productive.
Also, I need to work on goals. Writing them down and sticking to them! I really slack in the area of writing things down. I get so many great ideas in my head then never write them down, thus they never amount to much. So I think this also ties into being more organized!

Great topic and maybe this will be my push to a better and more productive 2008!

For me it would definetly try to be more organized, and procrastinate less.

Also as a family eat healthier, I know we probably eat healthier because of Josh, but there is always room for improvement.
