Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question is:
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A Medical Examiner like Quincy.
I always wanted to be a teacher and mother. I did both of those
i always wanted to be a lawyer. and i’m fortunate enough to be doing exactly that.
All kinds of things, but the one that stuck the longest was a Marine Biologist.
I have always wanted to be a mommy! I am now a mommy of 3 and I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home — homeschool mom.
tfs
Teacher, Vet, Private Investigator and Reporter.
I was a teacher for awhile and I guess writing a blog is somewhat fulfilling my Reporter dream. That leaves the other two. Oh well, 2/4 isn’t bad.
a doctor then I learned I can’t stand the sight of blood
I wanted to be a vet or a writer
When I was a young child, I wanted to be an astronaut but my brother-in-law told me I wasn’t smart enough.
I bet I could have!!!
My next career choice was to have a Wildlife Conservation Reserve in Africa.
I know I would have been good at that!
Finally in high school I wanted to be an Anthropologist.
What I did succeed at is being a fun loving over protective full time mom and now I’m a blogging grandmother!!
Is it completely sad that I really don’t think I wanted to be anything? I wanted to marry John Taylor of Duran Duran. Does that count?
I always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. Then I worked in an elementary school during 11th and 12th grade. I decided to go into accounting.
There was a time when I wanted to be a pilot but I guess I didn’t consider my fear of heights. Ha ha!
when i was younger, it was an architect. then for a while it was a school teacher. then a psychiatrist. and when i graduated high school, i would have loved to have enough talent to be a graphic artist.
what did i end up being? a wife and mother. best job around =)
a teacher
I really wanted to be a teacher. I think this had to do with the wonderful teachers I had in elementary school – I wanted to be just like them!
I wanted to be a teacher or a lawyer. My favorite game was to play school. I used to steal all the junk mail from my apartment building and make my friends do ‘homework’ lol
A mommy, nurse or teacher. I think I’ve managed to combine all three in one. What’s that song? The best of both (three) worlds?
an ARTIST and a MOMMY
A veterinarian!
When I was a kid, I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to be. And really, I’m still not completely sure, even now.
Decisive, aren’t I…
I just emailed you…is there anyway to delete linky #17?
thanks!
A Broadcast Journalist.
Pretty much everything, but the first one that I remember wanting to be is a veterinarian.

I wanted to be a teacher
I wanted to be a lawyer… lol Well first a superhero..
I wanted to be a teacher. I would pretend to be a teacher to my younger cousins and when my mom had a daycare (I was about 16) I would teach the children. But, I’m now in my 30’s and nowhere near becoming a teacher.
I wanted to be an archeologist. So, I sell Clinique. LOL…..makes alot of sense. I think I fell off the plan at some point.

Have a great day over there today!
I wanted to be a writer.
I wanted to be a lawyer. I became a legal secretary – close, but no dice.
I always wanted to be an author, as I loved to write. I’m not an author, but I’m happy to be a special ed teacher, a job where I can at least use my creativity.
One of those “meddling kids” on Scooby Doo.
I went through phases! I wanted to be a waitress…a hairdresser…a garbage truck driver…
But teacher is the one that stuck!
When I was really young I wanted to be a teacher!
An actress!
I phased in and out of things, but a doctor was definitely on of the more recurring ones!
I don’t think I really knew. There was too much family drama going on all the time to even think about it.
I wanted to be a lawyer (procescutor) and then I changed my mind to a psychologist. Hey, at least I’m actually one of the two
I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. There were bouts of pediatric nurse, and scientist, but I definitely always wanted to be a wife & mother.
I wanted to be a lawyer for a while then I wanted to be a teacher… I didn’t become either – But I love that I am a Nurse so I guess I made the right decision.
Madonna.
LOL!
I wanted to be a mom! There were times when I wanted to be a belly dancer or brain surgeon, but always a mom, and to a large family.
To me, large was 5, now that seems so small, lol.
Everything LOL. I went from doctor, to vet, to actress. I was going to do it all.
I always wanted to be a teacher. Then in highschool I wanted to be a social worker. My parents didn’t like social worker, so it was not allowed.
I studies ballet for 9 years and wanted to be a professional ballerina. Wish I was still that fit!
A photographer. I still enjoy taking photos. =)
Happy Aloha Fiday!
What didn’t I want to be? It changed so frequently, there was rarely one consistent thing, although I think if I could be paid to read books, that would have always sounded good to me.
I wanted to be a teacher and a mom. So far, I’ve made it to the teacher part…
I really wanted to be a dancer! lol
I wanted to be a nurse, not that is the last thing I want to be!
I wanted to be a teacher, or a photographer. I ended up being a teacher…and now I am just a SAHM but I love to take pictures still!
A lawyer…everyone said I talked a lot, lol
I always wanted to be a teacher. I worked in daycare for 6 years, so I got a little “teaching” in. And now, even though I’m not in an “real” school, I am homeschooling my girls, so I guess you could say I grew up to be what I dreamed of?
A rock star!
when I was younger like real young a mommy then a lawyer and now I find myself a mommy fighting battles every day LOL
I wanted to study marine biology. Now, as an adult, there are soooo many things that scare me about the ocean.
I wanted to be a teacher!
I didn’t know!
I didn’t want to be a mom. When I was in college I didn’t want to be a teacher.

A mommy
I always wanted to be an art teacher…in a classroom or a museum!
I wanted to be a doctor!

I was all over the place as a kid. I wanted to be a nurse, a preschool teacher and a elementary teacher.
The one thing I knew for sure was I wanted to be a Mom.
I wanted to be a teacher but now I don’t think that is what I want to do. I just completed my degree and still have to figure out what I want to do when I grow up

I am living my dream- Growing up watching Emergency 51. Firefighter-Paramedic…best job in the world
I wanted to be an Olympic swimmer.
Easy! I wanted to be a Lawyer. I am furious when it comes to something I believe in. Or when I have been wrongly accused of doing or saying something or lied to or lied about. Just a couple of my pet peeves.
Okay I meant ferocious not furious. lol
A gymnast. Every report I had to do for school was on Nadia Comaneci!
I always wanted to be a teacher.
One night my mom, brother and I were talking about what I wanted to be when I grew up and at the point I was as undecided as I am now. I apparently said I wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and a police woman so my brother said that I wanted to be a “pistol packing pom pom policewoman.” I will never forget that. I wanted to be a school teacher, too.
I wanted to be a mammologist (someone who studies mammals). A close second was a zoologist. I did volunteer at a local zoo for 4 years while I was in high school. I quickly realized that I pretty much suck at math and science and although I LOVE animals such a career would require a lot more study of things I didn’t like.
I wanted to be a lawyer.
I wanted to be a mom of 6. Not sure why 6. I am a mom of two. I also wanted to be a teacher. I was fortunate enough to be a teacher before I got into the field of therapy.

I totally wanted to be a marine biologist! HAHA, I ended up getting a J.D.
I thought I would be a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids. I have the 3 kids, but am working full-time, which I never thought I’d do!
I still don’t know.
I have always wanted to be a Mommy and now I have three beautiful children. I think I might have scarred my brother though – I made him be the Daddy…

A teacher….I still have the desire.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I was a kid. I became one for ten years.
A nurse.
