Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
Today’s question is:
What’s your favorite thing about winter?

SNOW!!!!!
though it doesn’t snow in my country, i have to say that my favorite thing about the winter is watching skaters in central park. it reminds me of the movie, “serendipity”.
i also love it when the air gets really chilly, sharing a cup of hot chocolate is a heartwarming experience.
I love when winter first comes and covers tree limbs and ground.
After the first snow, though, my favorite thing about winter is when it’s over.
SPRING!!
Since I’ve lived in Florida for 22 yrs. I really miss the snow. So I love seeing all the photos people post on their blogs of the snow where they live. I loved the snow when I lived up north and miss it every year!!!
Snow days! Nothing beats a surprise day off from school!
watching snow thru a glass window in a warm room…
Dry snow, and Snowboarding with the family.
what i like are you serious ummmmmm hmmmmm i guess ohhhh I dont know , gosh this is hard I hate winter……lol
The first snow, then I can’t wait for winter to be over. So cold and wet.
How clean it feels and smells outside after the first snow.
When I was teaching it was snow days
Now, it would definitely be spring!
Playing in the snow. Sledding, ice skating and making snow men.
Wool socks and hot chocolate!
WHEN IT IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hibernating.
Just came to my mind you have no idea how winter is yuckyyyy!! you lucky dog!!
Hmm, (thinking hard) (thinking very, very hard) do I have a favorite thing about winter? I guess I’d have to say watching the snow fall softly down and seeing the world all pure white and untouched. And my kids’ joy as they play in it.
I’m an AZ girl, so I have to say the beautiful weather (please don’t hate- or you could get me back by asking what I love about summer- lol).
Today I put the AC on in my car as I drove home in 74 degree weather. Then I realized how ridiculous that was and rolled down the window- no complaints from me!
)
PS I also LOVE Christmas lights.
Snow, cooler temperatures and low humidity!
wearing more clothes thus covering up some of my weight =)
oh, and the holidays.
Cuddling up on the couch with hot cider and a good movie.
The first thing that came to my mind was NOTHING, but I guess if I had to pick something it would be not having to shave every single day since my legs are covered.
The holidays!
I love having grilled cheese and soup for dinner during the winter!!
We don’t have winter here in the Philippines so it’s a dream to experience one especially the snow. My aunt who lives in Michigan says however that when there’s snow, there’s something to showel. Ha ha.
I love to get all bundled up just to waddle outside and discover that while the rest of your body is sweating, you still cannot feel your face.
the end of it, lol
I love the cooler weather and when it snows.
Hmm Just love the cool weather.. Winter is always so cozy to me.. Is that weird? lol I love the holidays of course..
Everything covered in white – blemishes and all…
As much as I love working outdoors in my garden…sometimes i like winter because I don’t have to have an excuse to stay in and hibernate
There aren’t any insects in winter.
Growing up in Michigan, I loved watching the big fluffy snow flakes flutter to the ground, and watching them sparkle in the moonlight.
Living in Australia now, I’d pay good money for some of that snow…90s and no air con…too hot!

Growing tomatoes! (we are in FL)
to be quite honest, I only like one thing about winter, the Christmas holidays. I’m not a cold weather person. I like warmth. And by this point in the season, I’m just ready for winter to be over.
Being that I live in the south, I enjoy the cooler weather. When its in the high 90’s and 100% humidity for nearly 2 months of summer, the cooler temps are a definite relief.
Knowing spring is coming!
Sometimes, it’s really beautiful, with big, fat, fluffy flakes coming down, but I’m really not much of a winter person. Right now, I’m just trying to hunker down until spring comes!
living in FL especially when looking at the national weather map!
Right now that is a tough question because I am so sick of winter and the cold.
When we get enough snow I would say getting out and playing in it makes for a good time with the winter.
That its close to spring!! I’m not a fan of cold! It only snows every 5ish years here so when it does, its lots of fun! But I only want the snow to stay 2-3 days!
From a girl who lives in one of the snowiest, windiest places in PA, the best part of winter is when it’s OVER!
I love snow and warm fires. But here in northern Virginia, snow is a rarity, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a little of the white stuff this year!
The anticipation of spring and summer of course.
While I don’t love the cold of winter, or the clean up process involved with snow, I do love seeing the snow, the pretty part and playing in it on a nice day.
Definitely, the cooler temps!
I like wearing sweaters. Living in Iowa I have quite the collection of sweaters. But I am ready to be done with them now!
Oh, that’s easy! The END of winter.
OK, I read through the comments and I have to add one thing. There is only one good thing about winter to me. No bugs. Though I did find a spider in my laundry in the basement yesterday. Mostly the bugs are gone.
How about when it’s over?
)
I hate most everything about winter. My top choices for not liking winter would be the freezing cold.
I love the crisp, clean air and the way my allergies are better. I also love hanging out with my family watching a DVD with the fireplace going, hot chocolate, FBBs (feel better blankets) all around and the lights out. If it weren’t for the big screen tv we could be The Waltons.
The beauty of all the snow! And Christmas!
I love the cold weather!
my favorite thing about winter is probably the excuse to drink hot chocolate and apple cider! we live in West TX where there’s not really much winter. we do get an occasional dusting of snow on the mountains, so that’s pretty when it happens.
Watching people slip and fall on the ice. Oh I am just kidding people!!!
I love watching little kids trying to play in the snow but can’t because their mom has put so many layers of clothing on them they can barely move. hehe!
UGH! I am NOT a winter person, coming from Alaska and all. But if I HAD to choose one thing, it would be snowboarding.
A nice roaring fire with a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows!
Big bulky sweaters that cover up big bulky guts!!
NOT that I would know anything about big bulky guts. *ahem*
It cools off. Seriously. I live in Florida and it is always so hot here, although we have had some really low temps here the past few days 25-30, so it has been freezing for us. For the most part, winter here is really nice cool weather, you can wear a thin jacket and be comfortable, so it is a break from the intense heat where you can’t take off enough clothes to get comfortable without getting arrested. lol
A snow storm….as long as I don’t have to drive anywhere!!
Christmas

My favorite thing about winter is being able to go outside and let the kids play. Being in AZ, winter is our good time of year since summer is too dang hot to play outside
I actually like the cold weather, I think it’s invigorating.
The palm trees, the warm weather… yeah, I live in Southern California
Usually it’s snow, but right now I’m going to have to say my favorite thing about winter is that spring follows it.
my fav thing is Christmas
I like that it gets cold. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want it to stay cold, but I enjoy the warm clothing that we can wear and the general change in the food we cook. I just like that change. It is something different. Without the change in the weather winter would have a completely different meaning for me.
I love the snow and the twinkly Christmas lights!
Winter for me is like autumn for everyone else but only part time. It is still my favorite season & I always wish for & fantasize about falling Snow.
My favorite thing about winter is putting on comfy clothes, getting a fire going in the fireplace, cooking hearty meals and baking goodies…it is such a cozy feeling!
I live in Massachusetts so my favorite thing about winter is SNOW!!! But I do not like driving in it unless I absolutely have to.
Skiing in the mountains!
The coming of the Chinese New Year (Monday) is always a fun time in the city. It get a bit cold, but the festivities are worth it ranging from dancing dragons to fireworks to chowing down on scrumptious dumplings.
Lots of commments on this one! My favorite part of winter? The end! No, all kidding aside, it’s the holidays before the hard winter actually sets in. Or a fire in the fireplace, which is rare here in Houston. Doesn’t get cold enough usually.
We had a winter wedding, so I like the winter – the snowy days, the warm fires. But our motive for a winter wedding was really the winter getaway to a warm destination…. like Hawaii.
Have a great day!
I love making snow cream with my girls, sledding in the snow, building snowmen and also sitting by the window with my girls drinking hot chocolate watching the snow. I hope my girls will remember these wonderful memories for years to come.
a down comforter and a warm husband on a cold night.
I hope this finds you well.
Snow Days…. I still can be a kid because I work at a community college and once or twice a winter I get a snow day… LOL
But, now… I’m ready for May…to start gardening and puttering in the yard.
Snuggling by the fire!
