Aloha Friday #53

October 23, 2008

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Today’s question is:

What are your plans for the weekend?

I’m surprising Girlie Girl by taking her to see High School Musical 3 on opening day. I can’t wait to see her face when she realizes what’s going on!

Aloha for stopping by Pamela, Kila, Jen, Angela, Topchamp, Jyl @ mommygossip, Snowbird, Jamie, Devin @ CoolProducts, Holly Schwendiman, Jen, Jo, Melissa, Aimee, TheAngelForever, Tamy ~ 3Sides of Crazy, Sagemom, Sheila, Tammy Winstead, Colleen, Kristi, Jennifer Burk, Jaime @ Just Add Laughter, Tracey, MamaJoss @ Dribbles & Diapers, Dee, Nina, Andrea McMann, Jen, HeatherY, Kelly, Laura, Mad Squirrel, My Precious Pennies, Kate, Happyathome, Jenni, A Maui Blog, Tim, Allison, Rach (Heart of Rachel)f, Alyson, the 3 P's Mama, Tena, Channah @ Get a Grip, Mom!, Rebecca C, Pamela Kramer, Em Dy, Deb - Mom of 3 Girls, Desert Songbird, Diana/sunshine, Cathi, and Renee

I hope you both have a great time at the movie. DD & I were supposed to go to an all day science thing, but there’s another one tomorrow that is much closer that we can go to…I have to pay for parking at the closer one, but I would have spent a lot more on gas at the other one.
Then we’ll be helping DH get ready for his trip.

Tena said:

that will be a lot of fun for the two of
you!!! Have a blast!!

Cathi said:

My 8-year old grandson is having a Halloween party at my house on Saturday. After having a whole lot of little boys running amuck, I think we’ll sleep a lot on Sunday.

Sounds like fun! I know Hannah’s going to want to see it too. :)

The girls and I are supposed to go visit friends this weekend, then we have a birthday party here on Sunday afternoon. But - Becca’s sniffling and coughing tonight, so we’ll have to see how she’s feeling in the morning. :(

Em Dy said:

I hope to watch Nights in Rodanthe. If I don’t make it on time for the screening, HSM3 is my next choice.

We will be working on the house :(, I am not thrilled with it AT ALL. Maybe I can fit some World of Warcraft time in though! Most weekends the girls go to Grandma’s because she wants them there every weekend! I think she is crazy personally :P

Have fun at the movie! This weekend is going to be a busy one for me. Hubby’s away, so I’m on mommy-only duty for the next 80 hours. I’ve got a house to clean, and I also need to finish up on my blog makeover. I’m probably going to end up staying up late after the baby goes to sleep for the night, but it’ll feel so good to have a new blog on Monday!

Mad Squirrel said:

I have to work tonight and on Sunday. Saturday my oldest turns 16 years old so we will have a small party.

Laura said:

No big plans here. Get some cleaning done, watch a movie….basically just chill.

Kelly said:

i’m baby sitting my sister in law’s kids all day on saturday and i have a funeral to go to on sunday.

Nothing big going on around here. Maybe check out the local fall festival if we are all feeling better. Everyone’s feeling kinda puny today!

Jen said:

HSM #? How cool– I bet she’ll be soooo excited. Have fun!

We are doing some pumpkin carving this weekend and just hanging out and relaxin’!

Happy Friday.

Andrea McMann said:

Yay! My Entrecard is up!!

We were hoping to go to this great pumpkin patch near my house with my parents, but I don’t know if the weather will hold out…

Nina said:

This weekend my baby is turning one. So today I am cleaning like a crazy woman while the kids are at school and the sitters and then come Sunday it will be party time!
Oh yeah and tomorrow my girl friend is surprising me with manicures and pedicures for my birthday which was a week and a half ago.

dee said:

This weekend we were going to a pumpkin patch but its supposed to rain A LOT today so that would be nasty! We have finally finished buiding our shed so we are going to fill it full of baby items!!! YAY! Get them out of my house for now!

MamaJoss @ Dribbles & Diapers said:

My little ones aren’t old enough to be into HSM yet! I often wonder what will be the next big craze…when they are a few years older?!?!

Need to break out the winter clothes here on the East Coast this weekend and buy some more footie-pjs for the babies….brrr it’s cold!

Tracey said:

Enjoy the movie! She’s gonna love it!

We have a pretty busy weekend. My Mother-in-law is coming for dinner tonight.
Tomorrow my parents are coming over to hang with DD while I meet with a local businessman who is going to make a generous donation to a charity I’m involved with.
Then DH and I (and DD) are going to check out an antique house that DH helped restore/remodel (but quit working for the company before it was done.) The whole project is done now and we were invited by the Historical Society to come and tour it.
Sunday my Father-in-Law is visiting and taking us all out to brunch. And at some point we will try to carve our pumpkins!

Have fun at the movie - great surprise! We’re hurriedly still trying to batten down the hatches before the first snow on Sunday.

Not too sure what to do this weekend. Lots of errands to run, possibly get the portraits that were canceled last weekend (thanks to son’s pinkeye), and pack hubby’s stuff for a wedding he is going to next week. Of course I would LOVE to try to get to Six Flags one last time before the winter if we can manage it.

Just popped in really to see how you’re getting on - all looks good here!

I am so jealous! I wish I had a daughter old enough to give me a suitable excuse for going to HSM3 on opening day! Guess I’ll have to be patient and wait for it on dvd when I can watch it in the privacy of my own home ;)

We’ve got “Trunk or Treat” this weekend. Everyone from church parks their cars in a big circle, with their trunks facing the center and the kids go from trunk to trunk playing games and collecting candy…wearing their costumes of course. I’m looking forward to seeing all the cute costumes!

Jen said:

We are going to an open house for my cousin who is on leave for a week. It will be the last time we get to see him before he leaves for Iraq.

DH will be out hunting as much as possible, I’m sure. I’ll take the boys trick-or-treating on Saturday and Sunday, church Sunday morning, basketball practice Sunday afternoon… and catching up on stuff around home, of course.
