Aloha Friday #42

July 24, 2008

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Today’s question is:

If you could be someone famous for one day, who would it be and why?

Aloha for stopping by Blondie, Melissa Markham, Annaliza, Jen @ One Moms World, Jenni, Arizona, Forgetfulone, Kila, Aloha Monkeys, Tammy, KGI, Dee, Kimmber, AreWeThereYetMom, Liza P. @ noses in books, Diana/sunshine, Vasacor, Melissa, Spice, Pamela, Qtpies7, Kelly@SHE-POWER, Jen E, JHS, Shannon, Andrea McMann, Tamy, TheAngelForever, Happyathome, Tonya, Anne, Deb - Mom of 3 Girls, Maisie, Rach (Heart of Rachel), Lori, and Cathi

Oops! I automaticly signed Mr. Linky and I haven’t posted yet!!

I would love to be Laura Bush. I think she is a genuine lady with thoughts and feelings of the everyday woman. I’d love to understand the many things that worry and perplex me with the current economy and government. Perhaps being Laura for a day would give me insight into things I don’t have access to. I’d also love to explore the White House!

Sounds cheesy…and I am not really a country music fan…but I am gonna say Martina McBride. I have a vocal music degree and have taught voice lessons, but long to feel that free flowing, easy coming, natural singing voice. I always figure that I’ll get that chance in heaven one day…

I would want to be Sir James Galway.

First, I would be able to experience being the opposite gender and finally get a perspective on just how the male brain functions. :-)

But more importantly, I would know how it feels to pick up my flute and produce beautiful music as only he can. I would know what it’s like to hold an audience in my spell while flawlessly playing a Mozart concerto from memory with a fabulous orchestra. I would know what it’s like to teach aspiring and professional flutists my technique. And have zillions of recordings sold, not to mention many hand-made gold, silver, and platinum flutes at my disposal to play each day.

Having met Sir James, I know that, from his perspective, it is good to be him. :-)

Hmmm actually I think I’d want to be Angelina Jolie but not for those huge lips and general gorgeousness - one) I’m baby craving, and I’d get to live vicariously through a new mom’s life with TWINS - that’d cure what ails me for sure! and two) I really admire her activism, hopefully I’d get to experience a little bit of her life within that area - and maybe get some ideas and inspiration to be more politically and environmentally and socially active in my own way.

I’d have to say Angelina Jolie as well. Gob smackingly beautiful, talented, gutsy, and with s strong social conscience. To me she basically typifies the perfect woman. And hello, she gets to sleep with Brad Pitt!

OK, I wouldn’t break up a family, but I think he is nuts for breaking up with Jennifer Aniston.

i read your question last night and have been trying to think of someone ever since. the closest i’ve come to an answer is some kind of famous photographer.

i would like to know what it feels like to take pictures - whether portraits, events, or nature - with confidence in what i’m doing and have the spectacular proof of that confidence.

I would love to be Zelda Fitzgerald because I’ve always wanted to live in the 1920s and after reading her biography I kind of want to see what it would be like to be impulsive like her and know what goes through her head. Like, I am impulsive but she is a different breed! Flapper-times! And F. Scott is a looker of a hubby, too :-)

Hey Kailani!
Good Aloha Friday question…

I use to like the idea of being famous, but really, I’m just too private to enjoy it. Well…I DO have a blog so I guess I’m not THAT private! LOL But still, I’m pretty quiet in real life so the fame thing would definitely cramp my style! :)

I guess maybe one of those host of HGTV…like Susanne Wong from House Hunters! LOL Just a touch of fame, but not too much, and with a fun looking job! :D

I can’t pick just one. The thoughts I have had:

President - to see what it is like.

J.K. Rowling - I would love to be the one responsible for writing books that millions and millions have read.

The Queen of England- because, heck, what woman doesn’t want to be Queen for a day!?

Jesus - because I can’t imagine a better person to spend a day in the sandals of.
